UK Superb? L&K Spec? want a BLACK interior? you can now.....

Featured Replies

Yes, this has no doubt been mentioned in a post, buried in a thread somewhere but I am in a very grumpy mood today, and I want my own soap box......

It's irritating to say the least. I wanted a black interior and had to settle either for a brown interior (which I hate dislike), or the beige 'dirt magnet' interior. I went with beige in the end.

Black is now of course available  :dull:

Skoda really need to offer more interior choice from the off. Grey leather would be nice. Or brown leather with the rest of the interior black etc etc.......

The original L&K choice of brown or beige was poor at best.

Rant over, I'm now having tea and cake.

+1 for grey leather. Would go nicely with Petrol Blue.

I had an Octavia L&K with the light leather option back in 2007 and it was great. It was a very light grey/blue colour, certainly not beige.

Ordered L&K today with black leather. Well happy :)

Also ordered L&K with black leather today.

Black leather became available a couple of days after I ordered last Monday, no intention of changing from the beige I ordered though......personally, I don't do dark if I can possibly avoid it!!

Agreed, the beige to me just seemed like an open invitation for marks etc so had to go with the chocolate coloured brown.  Thinking about choice of exterior being quartz grey I think black might have been a bit too dark but would have liked the choice.  I am sure I will come to like the brown in time.

To be honest it was the reason I went for an SE-L. Couldn't stand the brown and being a jeans wearer, I knew that beige would t be beige on my seat for too long!

If this stays, my next car will be an L&K!

If your order hasn't been "Locked" by the factory you could still change your choice, not so easy for us that have their cars already built though.

The beige/brown option only put me off the L&K spec, but now black leather is available I'm putting the new Superb on my list of cars for later this year :)

Just need them to open up the interesting paint colours now so that I can order one!

It is now "Locked", confirmed build week of next week.

Black leather is now available as an option in Ireland now also on the L&K. Sadly beige has been removed from Style (SEL) and black is now the only option on a Style

I have an L&K on order, Jungle Green with Beige ventilated leather, ordered End of November last year.

Asked dealer today to check if possible to change order to Bright Silver bodywork with Black leather upholstery but (sadly?) couldn't be done. Vehicle shows as "status 20 - confirmed build week 10" and is now "locked" so I'll have to go with the original choice. Leather cleaning cloth at the ready....

At least there's not much longer to wait now.

You wont regret the jungle green/beige leather combo,i have, and its lovely, and more important, different.ive allways found in life,a change of mind allways ends up in tears, wishing you had stuck with youre original choice.enjoy the motor when you get it.kevin.

I've my car 2 months now & my 2 girls (5 & 6 year olds) are in the car nearly every day, including a few long trips. Beige Leather & interior is still immaculate. It pays to put a good leather protector on it from day one, then I just give them a wipe every now & then with leather wipes. The hardest place to keep clean are down by the door sills, my 2 stand on this getting in & out of the car. i would have prefered if they were black instead of beige

That's a shame, sorry to hear that.

I really prefer beige - have had a Volvo for 10 years with beige and it never marked and we had 3 kids and 2 dogs

I initially thought 'typical!' however upon reflection I think it has done me a favour as the beige really lifts the interior IMO, not quite enough to overcome the bloody annoying glovebox that rattles when it's cold! but I'm glad I didn't wait for black.

Mine were protected from new though.

Asked my dealer today to change my order from brown leather with beige headlining, to black leather. A bit of a gamble on whether that will change the lead time (currently week 21) but given the supply challenges Skoda are facing, I'm hoping it won't make much difference!

I know it's not a everyones favourite colour but I actually really like the idea of the brown. I've had black, almond, black and ivory premium leather (in that order) in my Discovery 3, Discovery 4 (x2) and a run out edition Range Rover Sport HSE Black. I liked them all but found the black leather got way too hot, showed every crumb and scuff, and was a bit dismal inside; the almond was ok but a bit 'sickly'; and the ivory was beautiful but a bugger to keep clean (I did clean it a lot but the leather still stained blue from jeans on the drivers and passengers seat edge despite my best efforts to keep it clean). We also own a steam traction engine which means we do tend to get a bit covered with coal and oil detritus - despite efforts not to drive the cars when dirty like that, sometimes it is a necessity!

To cap it all, when I saw a moon white L&K 190 diesel in Ridgeway Skoda in Newbury with the brown ventilated leather, (and most of the other options I have chosen for my 280 petrol, including the panoramic roof) I fell for it. It's certainly a change and I may not like owning it, but at least it is different! It will also be a bit more resistant to the tough life I give it as a steam engine owner! I was still in time to change it (locked last week) but I've stuck with the brown...each to their own of course...

What colour was in the Corsa??? ;-)

Corsa is my wife's car. It's better than nothing right now....it's sort of dirty, black, grey cloth with a light grey stripe in it. Like I said beggars can't be choosers. I was offered a much better deal for the RRS from Ridgeway Land Rover than Griffin Tax Free but they wanted the car immediately so I was left with no wheels until the Superb arrives in mid April....hopefully. Luckily I am

currently on resettlement leave (have been since 4 Feb actually!) from the forces (RN) before I start my new job as a consultant in early April, so a lack of my own car isn't too bad - all I do is walk the dog, clean and tidy, make dinner and enjoy myself, while the wife is at work...she has her own photography business and is a photography lecturer at the local college too, so I have been enjoying doing not a lot for a while now....just realised that I've gone on a bit - must be bored!

I was only joking, i was in a similar situation before I collected my Superb,I had sold my previous one to someone who wanted to buy it & ended up getting an old & very basic Golf to tie me over til the Superb came. I had it a lot longer than I originally thought (as I originally thought I'd have a Superb in September but it would have been nearly November so decided to wait for the Combi & new plate in January ) The good thing about having the Golf was I appreciate the comforts of the Superb more as it was such a huge jump up as opposed to going from a Mark 2 to a Mark 3 Superb... Won't be long now til you get your wheels, best of luck with it when you get it!!
