USB Sockets

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently leased a Yeti Outdoor 2.0 SEL 4x4 which contrary to the order came without Satnav, the lease company agreed to fix this and organised the fitting of an Amundsen + unit which is fine as a satnav, but it uses the power socket that previously powered the USB port that sits underneath the unit, meaning that I no longer have a USB port. My question is are there any other USB ports in the car that I can use to link into the likes of CarPlay or is it a straightforward task to have a USB port re-activated or retrofitted?

If it was a lease deal that included a satnav they should have fitted an Amundsen II that would have left the USB port free for data transfer and power and it also has a lot more functions than an Amundsen+ unit.
I'm pretty sure the USB port is not being used to power the new unit, just that there is nowhere to plug it into it.

Agree with Urrell, someone has fitted the wrong unit for the car and has possibly fitted it incorrectly.

If fitting the Amundsen+ then they should replace the USB with an MDI kit (for which you can get a USB cable).

I think I would insist that the correct unit is installed, you ordered it and are paying for it afterall.

I would agree - tell them you want them to replace the head unit with the correct one for the car you ordered or replace the car with one of the correct spec. Otherwise you will terminate the lease as they have failed to comply with the original order. To a certain extent, having accepted the car you are on the back foot, depending on the conversation you had on delivery ant the point you realised it didn't have Nav.
