I have ordered a 230 Estate today (White) and I was told that there are only 4 that are ordered on the national database, so quite a rare car, if this is correct.

agree, its going to be a rare car, we've not even listed 10 on here so far..

i've only ever seen one other on the road, a black saloon in the long term parking at birmingham airport.

Just read your Blog Rob, Very nice write up.

Have you tried the Lane assist Yet ?

AG

cheers - not written much on the 230 yet

lane assist i've tried a couple of times but tbh i don't really see what problem its trying to resolve - i mean, if you're unable to keep a car between the lines without assistance you really shouldn't be on the road? I don't use it.

Lane Assist is more of a safety feature to prevent crossing lanes when driving tired or distracted, which can happen to anyone.

IMO if you're too tired or distracted you should stop and have a break.

Interestingly, on that subject, my vrS told me i should take a break the other morning - no idea why..? i was 40 mins into my 1 hr commute to work, that i do every day.. did it perceive me to be more tired than normal? If so how?! Clever tech i didnt' know about, or just randomness?

I read a Piston Head review yesterday about the 230 taking a while to be run in (3000 miles)

Anyone had any similar experiences to date?

I've found all of my vag cars have been the same - they free up considerably after a few k miles.

In that case I must have a rare car, as mine is a white 230 estate. I suspect they meant that there are only 4 on order at the moment rather than 4 total in the UK.

Just drive it hard from the start.  All the TSi EA888 engines are the same btw.

Yes, only 4 on order across the UK.

Still means a rare car to be seen in.

Who wants to be one of crowd!

Have a DTUK box ready to install when run in!

I'd be keen to log the lambda sensor using vcds to check what the air fuel ratio is compared to stock. No idea how these boxes work but wouldn't want to run it leaner than stock.

Are people really spending more for an extra 10BHP and then removing the 230 sticker so they 'appear' just like any other vrs?

Correct me if I'm wrong as it appears crazy.

Well done skoda marketing though.

Personally I think 230BHP on a car this size is (sufficient) but in the current market it appears about 10 years out of date. I had an RS turbo in the 90s with an LSD. My rx8 from 10 years ago had 230BHP and an LSD.

I think VAG need to unleash the reigns a little more from skoda.

No. I got the 230 for the diff and financially it made sense based on the other kit you get thrown in vs a 220. Spec a 220 with to match a 230 and it'll cost you more. The additional 10bhp was irrelevant.

Mine never came with the sticker. Even without a sticker a 230 won't look like a 220 as it has black wheels, black exhaust tips, black vrs badge etc.
