Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my 2013 Superb Mk2 Bolero to an Android Carplay unit and understand you're the person to speak to! Would you mind sending me a PM with your details?

Looks awesome. I am still trying to get Iron Maiden to play in our car, by have come up against a WIFE1 issue. Seems to work fine when I remove that from the car though.

The only solution I recommend is MIB STD2 PQ unit. You will need at least:

  1. infotainment unit

  2. QuadLock adapter

  3. USB with CarPlay support and harness t connect it to infotainment unit

Depending on you car options, you may also need infotainment unit plastic frame and microphone with harness.

Pls share you VIN and location so I can check details and prepare an offer for you.

That's good info, thanks. Can you send me a PM so I can reply to you there? I'm not yet able to send PMs due to my low post count (sorry).

Anyway, don't ask Pab567, he's going to want to suck you like a leech. The only language he speaks is money.
And to your question, you can perfectly use obdeleven. It depends on the radio you buy, you may not need to modify the 5F module. I recommend that you use the VAG - MIB2 telegram group. The people there are good and they will not demand money from you.

Do you have a link to the Telegram group? PM if you prefer.

@pab567 Hi, I hope you'll find the time to look into this issue.

I patched my unit but I still can't connect to android auto.

I loaded the codes with obdeleven and it accepted them.

Do I need to update the software for it to work?

Many thanks

Find adaptations with words "Google" and "Apple" (but without word "wireless") and turn them ON:

Hello, I have a 2011 Skoda Superb II, into which I installed a Mib STD2 PQ (without navigation) from a Skoda Yeti, with a jailbroken CP.

I have Android Auto, which is what I needed, but I'd like to solve these problems:

1. I have a non-original reversing camera, and sometimes it displays on the screen and sometimes it doesn't. When it does display, the image is sometimes distorted. I've noticed that if I reset the unit by long-pressing the button, it always works the first time, but after that, it's inconsistent.

2. When the camera is working, there's a delay of about ten seconds from when I disengage reverse gear until it returns to the initial screen, which then goes black.

3. The well-known clock error; it only displays 0:00 or 6:28.

4. I can't find how to enable AM radio; I only have FM. I understand that this unit should work in both AM and FM, since it has a combined input for both antennas on the back.

I have VCDS and ODIS, but I don't know how to fix this. If "pab567" or someone else can help me, I would appreciate it.

I have a MK3 2015 VRS with Sat Nav, CarPlay & Canton all enabled from factory.

From your previous posts it seems a swap to the newer 5E0919605M would be quite straight forward, possibly without any coding.

I was wondering if it would possible to swap in the Columbus MIB2.5 with 9.2" screen? Would it require any coding or change of the hardware in the glovebox? or would a straight swap to a 5E0919606D work?

If you can help, I'd be very grateful!

@SiJoyce15 you can swap display unit to 5E0919605M or 5E0919605N or 5E0919606, however in case of 5E0919605M and 5E0919605N APP button will not work unless you upgrade firmware to 3xx or 4xx. Replacing display unit to 5E0919606D requires exchange of glove box unit too.

@Jopega :

Ad. 1 - how is the power connected to the camera?

Ad. 2 - this normal, the camera goes off either after several seconds or if you exceed some speed driving forward.

Ad. 3 - this requires either reworking instruments cluster or upgrading your infotainment unit to 04xx firmware. However, as such firmware is not available of SKODA, it's a bit complicated.

Ad. 4 - it's in coding of 5F unit

@pab567 Thank you very much for that. Any idea what the corresponding part numbers for that glove box unit are? If not I'll give Skoda a call locally

Hello, thank you for your time. Here are my answers:

1. The camera's negative terminal is connected to the car's ground, and the positive terminal is connected via a relay. I've tried activating this relay in two ways: one from the reverse light, and the other from a module that simulates a Skoda Yeti and has a wire to activate the camera. The result is the same: sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

2. I understand that this is normal; it's a very useful function. However, since it stops powering the camera, the screen goes black, which isn't helpful. I don't know if a time-delay relay could keep the camera on for that amount of time.

3. I thought there was a way to fix this without having to mess with the instrument cluster.

4. I've looked in module 5F, and I can't find where to activate the AM radio.

Thanks again.

Ad. 1 /2 Remove the relay. It gives additional delays and might be an issue. Connect power to +12V available when ignition is on, e.g. from the back wiper engine module. This will also solve the nest issue with camer black when going from reverse to front driving.

Ad. 3 - yes, but it requires infotainment unit to be upgraded to 04xx

Hello, I made a change to the first byte of the 5F long coding, where the vehicle is indicated. It was set to Skoda Yeti, and I had tried Skoda Superb Limousine, but now I've tried Skoda Superb Estate (my car is the regular sedan). For the past week, the reversing camera has been working every time, although occasionally the image is distorted.

Regarding the AM setting, it was set as you indicated in your message, so it still doesn't work.

Finally, to fix the time issue, it says I need to update. How can I do that? My radio is unlocked and has Green Menu Engineering.

As you have unit without navigation then unfortunately unit must be open and soldered to install MIB STD2 Toolbox, it can NOT be done via SD.
