I have ordered a new L&K Superb and saw that there had been a number of Satnav thefts. I had thought that car radio thefts were a thing of the past and now replaced with other items (mobile phone etc).

 

What advice to people have, e.g. with respect to insurance and alarms. Is there any sensible steps that can be taken to reduce the incidence and/or mitigate the effect?

The theft of Columbus units are the MFD3 units from the Mk2 Superb/Mk2 Octavia generation cars.

 

The Columbus in the mk3s are completely different and aren't the easily steal able units like the older cars.
