Octavia VRS with Dtuk box going into limp mode

Featured Replies

Hi

Have been running my 2014 184ps with the CRD-t+ box for past 18 months and great performance and consumption but about 8 months ago started getting occasional limp mode happening. Has been reset and then goes months with no problem then kicks in again. Finally tonight it has happened multiple times on way home reset codes but soon as I accelerate hard it comes back again. Engine revs fluctuating and engine making clanking noise. Currently running box on settings 3+3 as had too much turbo lag on 3+1 & 3+2. Took the box off and reset codes and now running fine.

Has anyone else experienced this as kind of points to box?

Have a chat to the guys at DTUK, very approachable and friendly. I ran my tsi on +3 for a few months then started getting ecp (I think) coming up. Box now on +2 with no further problems

I had issues with mine a couple of times. I sent it back recently and they put the new maps on it. Now running 1+1 and its pulling like a train.

Are these new maps from recent dtuk update?

I still have maps from cdrt+ box.

They are new ones they have been developing - I'm running the cdrt3+ box.

The new map 1 I'm running is a completely different map - it's much smoother and seems to pull much harder than any of the previous maps & settings.

Try it on Program 1 +0, if ok then try 1 +1. It's probably just too high a setting on 3+3.

I found Program 1 better than Program 3 as you don't need to increase the +/- option as much.

Mines was a 2014 DTUK CRD-T+ box with no software updated.

Guys whilst you are all trying to help with try this map or try that map there are too many variables.

Many tuning box may have different maps and moreover have the torque map in different map numbers. So user A may have the best high revs map on Map 2 whereas user B may have the same map on Map 3.

Best guys to ask are Andy et.al at DTUK

And yes you've probably got it turned up too high, Andy at DTUK couldn't get their test car to run in +2 or +3 so it's more to do with your car and the way it's 'maturing' than the box but, DTUK are really helpful even if you weren't the original owner of the box/car

+1 (no pun intended)

Ive also had this, doesn't happen often - maybe once a week, but seems to be when I've had a bit of a blast, calmed down - put the foot down again, accelerates then bam.... engine light on.

Pull over, turn engine off  - turn back on and its fine again.

Been dangerous when trying to overtake it dropped out!!

Are there some DTUK updates i don't know about? Think i got my box in Feb/March!

By the sounds of it you just need to turn it down.

Why?

It works fine 99% of the time, and from memory its only on 3+1 (so i can't turn it down) :(

You can? 3+0, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3? I'm on 2+0 at the moment.
