Turbo blown

Featured Replies

Hi all. So my turbo blew up today and I need a new one. My garage have tasked me with finding a recon one but I have no idea what to search for, where to go, and what to ask. The mechanic mentioned pipes and fitting kits as well. I had a quick look on Ivor Searle but there are a few different ones.

Can anyone point me at a good place to get a decent recon one with a warranty and what I need to get with it? It's a 55 plate fabia vrs with no mods. Thank you in advance.

Midland Turbo sell recons with all the gaskets and everything included for under £500

Aet did recon units for less than £400 last time I looked also did the pd150 turbo for that price too.

AET get my vote too, superb service and quality products

You will also need to replace

Oil

Oil filter

Oil feed pipe

Oil return gasket

How did the turbo give up?

Why did the original fail?

If you dont want to spend much try a turbo out of a breakers yard i got one for 120 of an ibiza 130.its almost 2 years ago and is fine .not that hard to replace to be honest
