Hi all just wondering as i own a skoda fabia but baffled by the thermostat location and getting it changed it a 1.2 htp

as confused as i seen one made by meyle complete with housing etc but not sure if it fits mine part number 128 228 0005

 

and cant find uk dealer for meyle to confirm 

What year is your car?

Do you know the engine code? (On V5 document or car data sticker, something like AWY, AZQ, BMD, or BME for a mk1 Fabia 1.2, not sure what mk2's have).

In that case, the VAG part number for the whole plastic flange assembly including stat and coolant temp sensor is 03C121111B, according to this page (item 23). See if that cross-references to the Meyle part you've found.

 

Alternatively, I know from personal experience on these engines that you can obtain the thermostat (and o-ring) separately via your local dealership or TPS, items 24, 25 on same page, part numbers 03C121110A and 03C121119C respectively. Then it's just 3 screws to remove the housing lid, out with the old, in with the new.  May not be any cheaper than buying the whole assembly aftermarket, but it may be a bit less work.
