SatNav Favourites Not Working following update

Featured Replies

I have just updated the Amundsen SatNav via the update portal to ECE 1 2017, and now none of the existing Favourites and Saved Destinations will work.  The error message when selecting a Favourite as a destination is "Route Calculation Failed. No navigation data available for the entire route"

Oddly, if i enter the postcode of a destination which isn't working, the satnav will plot a route without issue.

Am I going to have to re-enter all SatNav Faves and destinations?  Will this happen every time I update the software?

Thanks

Mark

Sounds like the update has changed the format or how the favourites etc are stored ..

Sounds like you're going to need to re-add them however future updates shouldn't unless it changes again.

Sounds to me as though your favourites got over written or deleted during the update.

By the sounds of it (lot of sounding like here lpl) the actual favourites etc still appear but are corrupt

Same issue here.  Only discovered it after I got lost and thought I'd be clever and just use the Maxi-dot navigation screen to select home.

Google Maps in Android Auto got me back to Glasgow before I ended up in Prestwick.

Ditto here on updating our Yeti L&W. I had downloaded and installed the previous navigation update without problems, so feel that there is something seriously wrong with Skoda's compilation of the ECE 1 2017 one.

Not only has it mangled our favourites, but confuses Tiverton, Devon with Tiverton, Cheshire (in spite of correct postcode being given), some valid postcodes are no longer recognised, and at least one part of a newly added road (Newton Abbott to Torquay) is missing. The mapping company's online version of the map has had the correctly recorded segment of that road for some time (https://wego.here.com).

Fortunately the previous update file still exists in the downloads folder on my laptop, so will be reverting to that if Skoda do not get this fixed soon. Is there any way of letting Skoda know about this and indicating our annoyance?

Normally the favourites shouldnt be affect by the map updates.

But as posted by Neily in another thread it seems that the format of UK postcode addresses has changed in the last map update so that the space in the middle is now removed.

Therefore, any old favourites seem to be corrupt because the stored postcode no longer matches the database.

Looks like you will need to enter them again & save as a new favourite.

Yep I had this issue, you can't have the space in the postcode any more.  I had to redo all my Favourites.

Skoda get so many thing right, and damage their reputation by silly mistakes.

Is it possible to edit existing favorites by modifying the postcode to an acceptable format?

Unbelievably this has happened again with the ECE 2017/2018 update.....

I understood that the previous update broke the favourites as the postcode format had changed to remove the space. This is almost acceptable.....

But no format changes this time as far as I can tell, yet if I select any stored location it fails with (yet again): "Route Calculation Failed. No navigation data available for the entire route".

Now I have to re-save them again.

Really very poor

...And now things got even worse with the latest update CW3/2025. Some saved old destinations work, some do not, and when trying to use newly saved destinations, they come back with "check address" and in the address everything is missing except the country wall

It looks like there is a mismatch between addresses stored in POI database and what the satnav expects as input from Destinations. Selecting a POI from satnav card database using "New Route" and typing a name still works fine, so does the route guidance. Shame ☹️

After some further checks, it seems that on my MY2017 Amundsen MIB2.5 with latest map CW23/2025, saving destinations from map (as GPS coordinates) works fine when trying to use them afterwards, while saving destinations straight from text search does not (I guess they are saved as address/postcode).

For anyone else suffering this issue, if you do not have wanted destination's GPS coordinates in DMS format to hand, I have found a workaround, though laborious:

A solution if you want to save a destination found in the search is to

  1. Type in destination in "new route" and select/touch it as usual,

  2. Zoom in on the small destination map, does not matter how far, this is just so default map location moves to your wanted destination, you can also start route guidance and cancel it if zooming in does not work.

  3. Go back to the new route destination search and select "on map",

  4. Your wanted destination should show on map,

  5. Store it and use it, it works just fine when recalled, while straight saving the destination obtained from text search does not work with CW23/2025, posibly earlier

I'll give you my experience on this: I've found that the saved locations don't necessarily work between map versions. One option is to make a remote backup (if you have the appropriate remote online information package), update the maps, then restore the locations. The only other way is to delete the saved locations, then save them again manually with the new maps.
