New 2017 dacia sandero facelift still only £5995 would you buy one.

Would you own one? https://www.dacia.co.uk/vehicles/new-sandero/

Now the front bumper is colour coded so looks as good as the rest of the range. With a 3 year warranty it is a safe bet and at just £5995 you don't have to worry about depreciation, you can never lose more than 6k, most cars lose that value as soon as you drive it of the forecourt.

Updates to the Dacia Sandero mean it’s better value than ever, with more equipment and a new engine under the bonnet. the new 1.0-litre petrol’s low insurance group means it’s a good choice for young drivers

£5995 buys the regular Sandero model, which sports new headlight clusters with LED daytime running lights, a restyled front bumper and a new, more prominent grille. There are new tail-lights at the back, while different materials and more practical storage areas have been introduced inside.

A new 74bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine has been added to the range, with Dacia claiming it will be the most fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engine on offer.

  • I have said the exact same thing many times in reference to Dacia perhaps being the new Skoda. Then I think to myself, a Skoda taken under VW's wing is a much different animal than anything taken unde

  • But they are all on the 3 year old mark so no manufacturers warranty. Sure there are aftermarket warranties but they have more holes in them than swiss cheese.   You can be lucky and get a good one

Nope not for me but I know a few folk with Dacia's now and they all seem happy. They just wanted cheap basic transport and that's what they got.

For someone on a budget and not driven by a need to impress, how could you lose?.

Even as someone who has never spent more than that on a car - ever - I could never justify that. There are hundreds of better things to spend £6k on used. Even if I was desperate for cheap(?) white goods basic motoring I'd have to be desperate.

Quick look on Autotrader reveals plenty of Fiestas, Ibizas and Yarises etc for 20k miles or less at this cash.

Can't understand people who value a new reg plate more than a decent value proposition.

I would imagine the majority aren't into cars and for around £30/wk plus two services you have a new car every 3 years which meets crash and environment specs.

For some, that's a no-brainer

I bought my wife the Stepway Laureate last year - £11k but for that amount you get a decent car.

She drives them a lot as part of her job (cheap car for transporting unruly kids - social services) and felt comfortable knowing that she can easily access the back to restrain kids etc.

The 1.0 tce is surprisingly punchy although I have no doubt the 1.5 diesel would have more torque.

Ultimately it lead the way for me getting the 1.4 TSI as the newer petrol engines are getting a lot of bang for the buck.

The original. post reads like a press release!

Love 'em.

Why not? Better looking than many others costing a few thousand more too.

NOT for snobs however

one passed me yesterday when I was walking the dog, sounded like a bag of nails, I wonder how well these will age?

Just played with the Dacia configurator. Putting sensible options on this takes you over £10k, at which point Autotrader can find me a delivery miles new shape Clio with a better engine and interior and a lot, lot more kit.

I still just don't understand.

I do get your comment Ryeman about the majority that aren't into cars, but in their case I'd be surprised if Dacia would get a second look as surely most people if they know nothing about cars will go for a badge they recognise/trust?

That's why I would ever only go for the basic model, if you want extras then other manufacturers become better options. It depends if you need or want aircon etc, If you just need a car for your daily 5 mile commute and the odd shopping trip I would say this would do with the added security of a 3 year warranty. Just because it is low cost does not mean it is unreliable, you are just not paying for extras. I would say it is no worse looking than any other car under £9000, could even say it was better looking than most....

My Son bought a Dacia Sandaro last year, he lives in London, The car lives at the  side of the road, will never get washed ( unless it's part of the service ) 1.2 petrol 70Bhp ( I think ).

Bought on Finance to get the 5 year warranty then paid off in full the next day, Dealer Discount, Brand new on the Road £5550.

Bargain, what more do you need in London.

Had a brand new Clio rental earlier this year and it was hoop. That doesn't really bode well for a 15 year old Clio built in Eastern Europe does it?

Darcia Sandaro and Stepway's destined for the UK  are built in Morocco.

Jeez that's even worse.

Worse than what, VW Group cars built in South Africa or India or even Germany, Austria or Hungary, even Spain.

You can be lucky and get a good one but with a three year old car there is every chance you are going to get lumbered with one that's had a pretty tough life, it's a gamble.

The Dacia is brand new and gets a 5 year hassle free warranty, in my eyes that makes it a better 'value proposition' than an ex-rental Seat Ibiza.

The warranty is 3 years / 60,000 miles or 5 years / 60,000 miles if you buy on the Dacia finance.

Which is why those that do their research sign up to the finance to get the extended warranty and pay it off in full when they get home from the dealers.

As a genuine question from someone who has never had a car warranty of any kind, is the warranty really the selling point? I mean, if the Dacia came with a one year warranty does it still stack up?

Not for me no, as at that point the two year old used car becomes more attractive as it'll also have a years warranty left on it.

£5,000 for 5 years hassle free motoring under warranty? At this point I really don't care what badge is on the bonnet.

Remember it wasn't that long ago when almost everyone turned their noses up at Skoda.

Can't say it's something I've got a place in my life for. However, if they released their version of the old Kangoo over here at a similar price, there's a fair chance I'd go and get 2 tomorrow.

Probably in the last hour there will have been people turning their noses up at Skoda on various Forums & Magazine Article comments sections.

Commercial Dacia would be rather nice in the UK, much cheapness,

& a Commercial Version of a Skoda Kodiaq could be a winner as well if priced right.
