Service logbook

Featured Replies

I'm looking for the cars service logbook so I can get it stamped with the upcoming service.

I have the cars manual and head unit manual ect but there's no service book in there.

Rang the local dealer and they said it's all digital now... but I want to get it serviced through a stand alone garage and not skoda themselves. Is there a service book?

I was told it was all online now as well.

Not sure if you could get it done via a 3rd party and included on the online history... probably just have to keep the paperwork to supplement the initial digital proof

Yes I was surprised when the roomster went in last year for its 1st service you get a receipt and that's it

Don't think there is a way you can look online and see the history when buying a car

Not yet anyway

You can get it done by 3rd party Independents and have the servicing on the system if they have the licensed equipment, and there are those that do.

Some can get the TPI's & do Warranty Work.

Otherwise you keep the receipts & invoices that you get from 3rd parties and that is a Service Record and some buyers might consider that more worthwhile

than a Full Main Dealer Service History that meand very little other than maybe you can be sure if a Manufacturers Warranty being valid.

& Service Campaign or Recall Actions being done, but even that is not a certainty.

VW are still issuing service books (for the time being anyway..), so there isn't consistency across the VAG group.

The service history can be shown on the MySkoda App on your phone or tablet. Our Citigo didn't come with a service book but in the MySkoda App it has a section called Digital Service Plan and in there it currently just has the PDI info for the car. Once it has a service it'll have the info for them in there also. :)

I went through that as well. Rang the dealers and they said the same. You don't get them anymore. Absolute load of **** that. Penny pinching!

I'm in the process of trying to get details of these digital service records for my Fabia. It's fine to have an online log but what did they actually carry out i'm still trying to find out!

Can't seem to find that app on android play store

I'll look on Skoda site and see if it links me

Should be available for android somewhere... I got it on the Apple Store

I agree with Offski. A rubber stamp costs a couple of quid and people take it at face value. Have personally known of books being falsely stamped up. A proper old fashioned invoice is by far better proof of work done.

It's the way of the world and progress....

I get receipts emailed to me by quite a few large stores now rather than getting a paper one at the till, I get hotel reservations and cinema tickets on my phone instead of paper copies, your MOT certificate is all online with no paper copy anymore along with your tax. I can't remember the last time I had to send my NCD proof to my new insurer because they just checked online.

Not having a service book in the vehicle anymore isn't going to be a problem. Any work done by a dealer will show on the official records.... Any work done elsewhere will either show on the system, if they have access to it, or will be down on separate paperwork.

As I mentioned about MOT history many thought it was weird at first not getting your certificate but it's second nature now to just go on the DVLA site and see the full MOT history of your vehicle with everything it's ever had an advisory on or been failed for.... And it's only been in place a couple of years.

It is at the appstore or whatever they name it for android. Just search for MySkoda. It will appear in Czeck but will change into your native language when your position is located. Registration is not very smart but you'll manage. I did.
