Have ordered obdeleven for my '16 190 TDI

Today I ordered the obdeleven dongle, and it will be fun to see if it can do most of the stuff I would otherwise need VCDS to do.

If the admins let this thread stay in the Superb Mk III forum, I will update it with my various modifications on my 2016 (MY17) L&K 190hp TDI 4x4.

I plan on using both 'manual' long coding, but also the available scripts (apps) although they cost extra (not much, though).

 

Has anyone here used it for their Superb III?

Oh, that's not a good sign.

I did check the latest update date of the app before purchasing, and it was released 1 month ago, on Feb. 2. so I thought it seemed to be good activity still on the project.

And the parcel was marked as 'shipped' from the parcel tracking site within hours from my order, so at least they seem to ship out units pretty quickly.

 

Let's hope it's just a temporary 'vacation' on their side ;-)

Yes, I understood. My point was just that even though they haven't been very active on the forum lately, they still seem to be in business.

But I also see on the forums (at the bottom of the page, "Forum Information & Statistics") that 6 staff members has in fact been online (in the forums) the last 24 hours.

 

Anyhow, I'll update this thread as soon as I receive the dongle and start playing with it.

So far I've downloaded the app and started watching ads to earn credits for in-app one-touch scripts (apps) (you earn one credit for each ad you watch, and most scripts/apps costs 10 credits).

Ok, received the obdeleven dongle. And it looks promising :-)

 

Here are the first things I did with it today:

 

First, I ran a complete error scan of my car:

 

It found 8 errors, most were related to front sensor malfunction after driving in snow that clogged the sensors.

There were some others too, but I think they are unimportant.

It was simple to email to myself the complete list of ECUs and faults, so I have it for future reference.

 

Then I cleared all faults:

 

Then it was time to do some modifications...

 

The one thing that has been annoying me, is the start/stop, so I wanted to disable this.

 

From a post on the forum I found this explanation:

Available with VCP (Vag Can Pro) as an OCF (One Click Function)

 

Works with VCDS as below

 

·         Go to Module 19 (Can Gateway)

·         Adaption

·         Go to  Kanaal: Start_stop_voltage_limit

·         change to  12.1V ( standaard is 7.6V)

 

The Start-Stop will show as disabled because the energy requirement from the car is too high, which is not an error but a valid reason for SS to be disabled.

 

 

So I did the following steps:

 

 

 

changed this to..:

 

 

Saved:

 

 

That's it!

 

Went for a drive, did not press the start/stop button to manually disable it. Came to a full stop, intially with DSG in Drive, then in Park, only thing that happened was this symbol at the top appeared - the engine kept running :-)

 

So that was a full success!

 

Next thing I did was changing throttle response from Skoda to Audi. Again pretty straightforward and no drama.

 

I probably won't do anything else before the weekend, but this was a good start.

So this morning I did one 'app' (cost me 10 credits) and one normal adaption/configuration 'VCDS style' :

 

First I did the app/script for disabling the seat belt warning chime

(for the record: I always use the seatbelt, I feel naked without it - this is just because I take it off when maneuvring in reverse in my limited spaced garage, and the chime stresses me...)

 

 

(haha, I see now that the text in the app has an unfortunate cropping - "We do not recommend seatbelt". I believe on the next line it says something like "chime disabled" or similar)

 

So the screen above tells me the current status of this setting, 'EU', which is explained below that the chime continues unless I fasten the seatbelt. I can change the setting to OFF or USA, and it will cost me 10 credits. I have 35 credits available as seen in the lower right corner.

 

 

Changed to OFF, pressed the green Check button, and 'Success' no more seatbelt chime.

 

 

Next, I wanted my rear lights lit when using DRL in daylight.

(again, don't want to discuss this, other than saying that the power used for lighting these rear LED lights is minimal, so the climate impact is probably impossible to measure. But having the rear lights lit is safer, I have noticed more than once driving behind other cars with no rear light, that for instance if the sun is low on the horizon in front, it's much easier to be aware of a car in front if it has its rear lights lit when I'm closing in on it, for instance. Follow-up in another thread ;-) )

 

So following this post, and in particular the instructions for MY17;

Did you notice any improvement with the AUDI throttle response mod? Will try this coming weekend when i recieve dongle from obdeleven.

Yes please, any assistance on how to do this along with screen shots. It's the last mod I wish to do with OBDeleven however following the instructions from tried and tested page I was unsuccessful. Any help greatly appreciated. Note I have a 2017 model so I hope it's the same as yours.

Once again, thank you ever so much for your great descriptions and even better screen shots. I'm new at this game and appreciate the kindness. I've made a few mods with apps and managed to activate TMC with coding but struggled with the AUDI throttle response and Scandinavian DRLS (rear) but have new hope now.

I've already ordered OBDeleven (26th March). Credit goes to you grenness. I am eagerly waiting for it. I also like to change throttle response from SKODA to AUDI if possible for my SKODA. today when i was driving fully loaded (nothing was in the boot though) i felt like the car was not picking up quick enough from red light stop. i didn't try Sport Mode yet though. So would like to see how it behaves in AUDI Throttle in normal mode. I will also be doing some other coding and adaptation that i already noted down.

 

 

NB: By the way, why do they call it OBDeleven instead of OBDII(Roman 2)!!!!

Received my Bluetooth dongle today..But its keep disconnecting..just wondering if anyone knows whether my mobile has to be disconnected from SKODA Bluetooth (handsfree) before connecting the dongle.

No, I don't think that's necessary. But your mobile needs to have a (good) internet connection.

You can't expect that every adaption for the Octavia will work on the Superb, and not all Octavia modules are the same in the Superb...

So if you can't find it when connected to the Superb, I guess that particular adaption either is not possible, or has different steps.
