VRS Estate Strange Issue

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 VRS TDI Estate which I thought had developed a misfire but that doesn't seem to be the case as the issue happens at the same place on my way to work every day.

The car feels like it misfires or that the brakes have been applied quickly , it only happens as I come over the crest of a small hill with a small left hand turn. It seems that when the car starts to go down hill it does it just for a second.

Stability comes to mind but no warning lights are triggered.

Also got home the other day and the Fans on the engine would not switch off until I restarted the car again ?

Any help on fixing issue will be much appreciated

Justin

Fans coming on sounds like a DPF regen.

Do you have any other info such emission cheat software up date done or not. When was the fuel filter last changed.

I would say the "misfire" issue is actually down to the ESP system cutting power. As you go over the crest of a hill the sudden change in direction can throw the stability control into thinking it needs to intervene.

Funnily enough the Car is going into today for the Emission update , Fuel filter was changed in November.

Ah, I have noticed this a couple of times on a trip on a road I know, coming over a crest with a slight turn felt like the brakes dabbed on for a split second or power was cut, just thought it was a one off and put it down to the tracking being slightly off as my wheel wasn't central, it's been aligned now so I'll go to the same point and try again.

I think maybe the ESP is kicking in slightly thinking the wheels are losing traction.

Mine does it too. Part throttle going down a hill on the way to work.

Ive read about it before so quite normal I think.

I've felt this in my 2012 fl vrs in similar conditions too.
