Just coded (yet another) brand new Yeti and it took the coding 1st time (as did the ‘staging’, CH/LH as fogs, DRL dimming on indicating etc)

It is either down to old software, hooky software, or the operator.

Interesting you mention staging there, as I didn't manage that on mine. Will have to have another look.

Maybe I missed it on the massive list of adaptions in German

Exactly - and clearly over reading is proferable to under reading as owners would be complaining in numbers as they got tickets whilst thinking they were adhering to the limit.   I must say

  • Well, thanks to Nuriyan (Justin) who is one of the selfless individuals listed elsewhere on this site who offer coding help, my car now has an Aussie accent & a nice big MPH display. So anoth

Gizmo is correct, it only needs to be capable of showing MPH or KPH. i.e. tick/untick a box in maxi dot    The key word is CAPABLE

It is now actually coded by using ‘celebration indication’ (or words to that effect) rather than staging, this changed a few years ago IIRC.

Bought a OBD2 Bluetooth device and purchased a week sub to Carista, but when I changed region to Australia, all it did was change all MPH/mileage settings to KM's

am I doing something wrong.

Changed another couple of settings and they are ok.

Followed these instructions for VCDS after watching the video and all is good.

On your DIS go to your settings and do the following:

Untick “Alt. Speed DIS”

Still in settings, go to MFD Data

Tick Digital Speedo

Click Go Back and then Go to Units

Choose Consump./dist.

Scroll down and select mpg (UK), mi

Sorted

That is exactly what I did two weeks ago using carista. Success first time

Mine didn't work with Carista So I guess it willl need to be VCDS then

He said it worked after changing a couple of settings on the Maxidot.

In the carista customise section there is a region option where you can select Australia as the region for the car. After doing that you need to make some maxidot adjustments as per Highlander19 post above

This is the biggest issue myself and a few others have with Carista etc.

Because it is so cheap (as very little R&D needs to go into a product that you have just copied from someone else) it means that all and sundry buy it, then start ‘coding’ without any knowledge of what they are actually doing... some of these people really should not be messing with stuff like this IMO.

Even when there are detailed walkthroughs out there they still cannot manage to do anything that requires more than one tick box activating, scary really.

I understand your sentiments re carista. However the range of activities therein is fairly limited and probably mostly in the more harmless regions of activities. Admittedly in the region section therein they do warn of possible unwanted lighting changes which may occur if some regions are selected and I would certainly restrict myself to Australia as a result of long term reading this forum. Others might play around with potential undesirable results. The other available functions included things like enabling needle sweeping, door locking options, setting the leave/return greeting lights to spots rather than main beam, setting their duration and rear windscreen wiper options. All these I found useful. Things like spotlights coming on with main beam are questionable. Had I invested in a full VCDS setup (which I could have afforded) then I would definitely have been in dangerous territory unless I received proper training. I at least felt safe with the limited carista options taking care to change only things I already knew about and could understand. The options in carista were well presented in a simple easily understandable way leaving little excuse for not knowing what you were doing. Everything therein easily reversable if disaster struck.

Yetiflute, what spot lights? The Yeti is not equipped with any. The only auxiliary lights fitted are the FOG lights.

tried the staging on my late 2013 adventure, wouldn't take it and theres no celebration anyone any ideas?

maybe this should be in the vcds section however its still rolling here!

Slip of "pen" and old age. Definitely fog lights
