Columbus - No Sound

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have a really odd issue with my Columbus head unit. If I start the car between 7am-10am the audio will work perfectly until you turn off the ignition, starting the car again means that the sound does not work though the head unit functions as normal.

If the car is started after 10am, no sound.

If I turn the engine off and turn it back on, no sound.

Sometimes after 45minutes of driving the sound will burst into life and it will work normally.

There are no snaps, crackles or pops from the speakers.

All the wiring appears to be connected properly.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar or knows how I go about troubleshooting this thing?

Have you tried rebooting the unit?

Press and hold the power button while the unit is on, only release after you see the boot screen again (the car logo)

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried.

I've also replaced the fuse too but still isn't right.

Drop @Rustynuts a message he may be able to help you.

I'd already seen this mate. But this is in a Mk3 Octavia, so not something I'm up to speed on really.

I would hazard a guess that it's buggered though (technical Yorkshire term, that is). :tongueout:
