Hi, I'm new to this sites. Only have one question and I would an advice regarding the subject. I'm wondering if it pays off to remap or upgrade my car, 51kw TDI to maybe 90hp and is it good for the engine?

 At 51KW you have the 70HP version. I have driven the Mk1 1.4 70HP and the Mk2 1.4 80HP and they are like night and day - the 80HP pulls so much better due to a massive increase in torque - but I do not know if the 80HP turbo differs as in variable vane type so unsure if a remap would prove massively advantageous. I also think that the Mk2 has a different ECU from the EDC15 in the Mk1, so you may not have the option to upload you own map if you purchase one from the likes of Blacksmoke, which is a considerably cheaper option in the UK.
