Just been on Skoda chat to get an update on mine, it has now changed from a confirmed build week 6 which the dealer told me to a unconfirmed build week of 7!

getting more & more confused as the weeks go on.

Dealer is bull****ting you, BW's only get confirmed 2-1/2 weeks in advance

I have found a ex-demo 245 for sale fully loader with extra's for pretty much the same price I will be paying for the new one so may well go & have a look at that.

At least you won't have to run it in as everyone else will have ragged it rotten

Well, I can’t be without a car for approx 5 months. Think I might have to see what demo’s and ex managment vehicles are in the network. I’m beginning to swing towards a Superb 4x4 280 if the figures are close.

You got a bad deal if a Superb 280 4x4 is close

The deal was excellent, the lead time isn’t.

Has to be Dragon Green, It's a pity you can't get the Octavia Vrs in that colour.

Just had this from my dealer :

Production slots for the current OCTAVIA vRS 245 are now full. This model will remain in production until week 26 2018 – however, we need to close factory ordering to guarantee build slots for all existing customer-tagged orders, including those on the wait list.

The OCTAVIA vRS 245 will remain on the configurator, and in SLi, to support sales of remaining network stock.

Any new factory orders placed from today (Monday 4 December 2017) will be cancelled, as will any demonstrator, stock or showroom orders either on the waitlist or without a build week.

OCTAVIA vRS 245 will be removed from the ŠKODA.co.uk website configurator from Monday 4 December.

We will bring back a 2.0 TSI 245PS vRS at model year 2019, which will go into production mid-2018.  Details will be communicated closer to the time.

Just been on the configurator and yep the 245 has gone.  But funnily enough you can still apply for finance for one!  I had a play with and with all the options I wanted on pcp the best it could do was close on 400 notes compared to just over 200 im going to be paying for my 245

Done some enquiring on this one and it turns out it was the MD of the dealerships car. What is swaying me into looking at this is the fact it comes fully loaded with all the extras.... DCC, canton system, 9 ins touch screen, bind spot assist, rear camera, sunroof, all for the same price which my bog standard one is costing.

Seriously might give this some consideration if they can match the deal I have got for the new one :wondering:

Not his car was it?, as in bought and paid for, 1 registered keeper, him personally!

Just still Skoda UK and his Perk / Management Car  / Demonstrator.

So still 3 months / 3,000 miles minimum and used as a Demonstrator if needed.

If he says never raced or rallied and only used by him a few others then all good.

PS

Some Skoda Dealership Groups have MD's  / Directors that are Rally / Race Drivers.

That is very true! Guess no worse than buying any used car but guess just need to weight up waiting 3+ months for a new one or going nearly new with some extra bits.

Just had a call from Skoda.... build date week 21! June next year!!!!!

I have a skoda on a pcp that finishes in February.

Arrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!

What happens in this situation? Do you have to buy your existing car and then sell it back to the dealer when you get your new one.? Or do they just extend your existing lease?

Mid you’re staying with the same marque they’ll usually extend your contract up to delivery of the new car.

Spoke to my local dealer today as am a Wk 19 build after ordering 11 November.  He said they can simply extend the current lease till the new one arrives

Sounds like an excellent shout if the numbers add up. You can’t beat a few top notch extras. The pano roof in particular hugely lifts the car interior & is awesome in the summer. If you have kids they will love it too!

Don’t discount a car just because someone else has driven it first. Even a new car has probably been ragged to & from the boat!

Edit: Just re-read your post. Same price as your boggo-spec order? Get the MD’s car. You’ll not regret it. In a few months both will be second hand cars and you will have the benefit of the extras.

AND, you can have it now! Go for it buddy!

You've done well to get a provisional date ordering in November. Not had anything as yet and ordered end of October.

Might be slightly off topic so apologies in advance but here goes...

I ordered a 245 hatch DSG at end of Sept and I’ve been told an unconfirmed build week 7 with delivery a few weeks later.

What I’m wondering is if there’s likely to be any change to the standard 245 spec for 2018 built cars or will that not be likely until the summer?

Yes there will more likely be upgrades. Maybe even an uplift in the standard spec so some of the options you may have paid for will 've standard with an uplift in base spec pricing.

Is the change of build week not til Mid April?

What makes you think that?

Dealer spoke to the retail support team who confirmed.  That said they are expecting dates to come forward so fingers crossed as was originally told early March

Year on year updates. Working in the industry for the VAG group this is standard.

Only downside is the higher interest rates on second hand compared to new
