    Picked mine up today

  • So I picked mine up this morning, it’s a brilliant car love it already. Only done 50 miles and traffic was heavy but it ticks all the boxes for me.

Don't cancel whatever you do, even buy a cheap run around, they are losing money hand over fist on that deal you have.

That's why they are delaying orders, they don't want to lose money. Every other excuse you've heard is BS, someone somewhere cocked up the pricing & they're gonna try to get out of it.

Had I been offered that price I'd have asked back, can I have a longer deal ?

Do whatever you have to but, FFS Don't cancel

I ordered in Ireland and also got a ridiculous lead time of 5-6 months. We don't have leasing over here and the retail price is in line with the previous range topper VRS230.

If it was down to trying to get people to cancel their orders then surely non UK markets would be there standard lead time which over here is typically 12 - 16 weeks at most.

I imagine mine would too. But putting the missis on who's only got a provisional. So why it's jumped up rather than down.

That will be why! :)

Just spoke to Skoda customer services.

Still no build week which i find incredible given i ordered late october.  The lady did say to try again monday as they are in the process of updating everything, and on average its a 25 week from order to delivery.

I ordered October 9th and no BW.

I still have provisional of BW 16

Apparently I maybe get one at the end of jan/early feb but as others have said they don't allocate them that far in advance so it could be ill be waiting for that til late march!

Ursicles,

Sounds like you spoke to some call handler with a script.

You would be better getting in wrting from a Senior Communications Manager as the excuse on systems and computer updates is ridiculous.

52 weeks a year,

26 weeks being 6 months.

Does she understand averages, and how many are delivered on 3-4 months, i wonder how many wait 8,10 or 11 months.

I can well believe 6 months mind.

When i bought a new golf gti in 2006 - had to wait 6 months for that!

6 months is not 'an average' though.

It can be with Audi though and sometimes VW.

Thread in the General Car chat.   Article in Autocar,

VW suspending Golf GTE orders so as there is no huge waiting list.  No real reason why a bottleneck of productions.

Interiors used as an excuse in the past and now with the Kodiaq.  They make it up as they go along.

I'm also BW2 (confirmed) and I ordered 4 weeks before you.

Just got my weekly update from Skoda (Following the complaint I made) been informed my unconfirmed build week have moved from 17 to 4.

Finally some good news.

Apparently this will turn into a 'confirmed build week' after the 18th of this month.

Who did you complain to and was it a letter, email or verbal?

thanks

Over the phone, but direct to Skoda customer services, I got transferred from a normal person to someone else who took ownership of it.
Same person calls me each week.

Thanks - may have to go down this route as well and sounds like it’s had a positive result for you

Defo worth it imo.

I've the same week bud. Told delivery for March.

BW4 should be Feb delivery, ill hold it off till march however for the plate

Both of you ordered start of November right? I ordered 1st week of Nov so this sounds promising.

24th October for me, I took over someone's order who ordered 11th September which apparently should have helped but it didn't.

I ordered 11th Nov and have a provisional bw19 - was told Feb/early March delivery when I placed the order by Dealer.  Spoke to him again last week and he’d spoken to Support and said my date will come forward but can’t say by how much.  Issue is not knowing and not being given a definite date by which they’ll be able to update with a confirmed bw

Just called skoda after reading the above - lady on the phone tried to be helpful, but still no build date for me!

She said there was a hold up with the VRS engines - and couldn't give me any more info re build timelines.

I reckon 21st century batched up their orders and sent them through in November sometime rather than ordering as people ordered - hence no build dates even though i ordered Oct 26th.

Edit:  If it does get moved to June, then think im going to ask agent for fee back and cancel the order as i need something for March, April at the absolute latest and not sure waiting 8/9 months for a skoda is worthwhile.

Ordered 30th Oct. Order confirmed 3rd.

I imagine that's the case ClarkyStu and dealer possibly holding it for the new reg. Is there much benefit in having the new reg when I will be handing the car back in 3 years?

Order confirmed on October 19th and just received an email to say its rolled off the production line, any ideas on how long it'll take to arrive and clear customs?

That's good news, my car was built on the 7th Dec and I picked it up from the dealer on the 23rd so basically 3 weeks

I ordered my car on the 25th October, these dates are just too random
