vRS245 ordered club

Featured Replies

This next car was for family duties and we started by looking at SUV's, only ordered the 245 because it was so cheap.

I'm not complaining, as they say happy wife, happy life and my daily is an M140i.

    Picked mine up today

  • So I picked mine up this morning, it’s a brilliant car love it already. Only done 50 miles and traffic was heavy but it ticks all the boxes for me.

In that case a 245 and M140i would have been greedy! The Qashqai is a good family car, we've had one nearly 3 years. However, it's become my daily only recently and I can't wait to send it back. Wife loved it though.

So my car's finally going through the factory, seems like so long ago it was ordered (11th September)

VRS245 DSG Hatchback

Options:

  • Moon white metallic
  • Grey interior stitching
  • Panoramic Electric Sunroof

  • Dynamic chassis control (DCC)

  • Keyless entry and start (KESSY)

  • Adaptive cruise control

  • Canton sound system

  • Rear view parking camera

  • Heated windscreen

  • Temporary space saver spare wheel

  • Umbrella (for electric seats / CANTON)

  • Heated washer nozzles in front

  • Crew Protection Assistant

  • Rear side airbags

First stop to get the wheels refurbished in silver as I have absolutely no love for the black "clover leaf" looking wheels at all, much cleaner in silver in my opinion.

Second stop to my trusted detailer for a full new car protection detail with CQUK Ceramic coating

Should look like this, cant bloody wait!

Hopefully see it in January!

Are you buying it or leasing it like the majority of others on here?

How much is the ceramic coating?

Neither!   I won the car and £20k would you believe through www.botb.com !

So with the money I've specced it right up.

The new car protection detail takes 4 days and is £575, I use Gordon @ Defined Details in Glasgow, used him for all my previous cars, the guy is a detailing genius, the particular coating im going for is guaranteed for 3 years durability, quite impressive!

Sweet!!

That looks so so so much better on silver wheels!!

IF it was my car anfd i wasnt leasing, i would do exactly that.

Re BOTB - after they told you that you had won, did they give you a budget to spec to car to - or just free reign on the options list?

Keep meaning to try botb, you might have inspired me :)

Don’t shoot the messenger but I’ve been informed that the 245 is available again. Just awaiting a price as I type!

Hi mate, yeah I agree, silver wheels it is for sure.

So the win was for the 245 DSG Hatchback, any extras I pay for myself out of the £20k, I managed to get a decent discount on the options from the dealer though :)

Definitely have a crack at it!!

Can't configure one on the Skoda website... and the dealer whose demo I bought said he wouldn't be able to order a 245 to replace it until June...

Dealer has come back to me with a PCH on a stock 245... Maybe that’s the difference?

I’ve asked if he can quote for a factory build and will update in due course...

Ah ok, so it was only possible on a stock 245, not factory build. Will be possible later this year he said.

My letter yesterday appears to have worked!

Skoda just called - they said that if my car isn't here by the time i hand back my Audi, they will give me a car til mine is ready, or pay for me to keep my audi longer - and when i said it will be due a service, they said they would cover that too!

Reason for delay the lady said was they sold far far more of them than they thought they would.  Apparently they were only ever planning to sell them for 6 months, but demand was much greater than planned so all the components etc werent pre-ordered in those numbers and thats caused the issue.

Def makes me fee a lot happier about the situation - ill get some free motoring as a worst case scenario.

New, used, Ex Demo, ?  May be it was ordered and excepted by the Factory before the books closed

Decent enough cars Qashqais, but not really a 245 alternative! Hope it's the 1.6T at least.

On another note, my build is confirmed at week 4 and February delivery. Early feb hopefully. Absolutely can't wait now.

BW4 and early feb?
That's ambitious to say the least, I would guess you would be looking first week of March if not 2nd. But goodluck with it

Maybe an idea if in their posts members give the name of the Skoda UK Customer Services Call Handler, Communications Manager or what ever title the people have that tell their side of a story why the Ordering and Build week fiasco, and what ever excuse is given.

Be sure you always have their name and job title, and even ask where they are based, which call centre / town.

Nice one mate, pretty much the same outcome I had a few years ago.

I went from a Fabia to an Octy and they loaned me the Rapid until the Octy came. Only paid for fuel in the time I had it.

Got sick of all this - so emailed Skoda CEO - i know its prob an extreme step to take, but their buggering about could result in me having no car come April, so enoughs enough i figure.

If i wasn't going to lose £239 from lease company, i would actually cancel this whole thing.  Usually get excited about new car purchases - but this is just become a strung out laborious process which might well end in no car for march.

Be interested in the email address you used as struggling to find details elsewhere.

Looks really well specced too, panoramic roof, columbus navigation, reverse camera and adaptive cruise control minimum that I can see!  Well done!

Much as Id like to buy that one, it was a tad expensive, has a few options I don't need so have asked if there are any other 245's available. I see other dealers have some so have asked them too. It may be as this one is not classed as Used, ie unregistered, that it can be PCH'd.... We'll see

Looking at the PCP quote £ pm I'd say it's used as I pay just south of 400pm on a 27-1/2k car.

New car APR was 2.9% & that looks a lot more hence, why I think it's being classed as used

Another dealer has quoted on a 245 but confirmed its only for used/stock and not on new builds as yet.

Had a call from my case handler yesterday and she said the 245 was only planned as a limited edition although I seem to recall marketing saying it would be available ongoing.  Be interesting as to whether they open it back up again in a few months or whether next version is another limited edition but with more power say 260.

Swapped my 220 VRS for a 245 today.  Really pleased so far apart for feeling like I was Bambi on ice driving home.

Checked tyre pressures when I got home and 49PSI in every tyre. Corrected and the car seems much better now but still can't wait to get the Pirelli's off the Eagle F1's back on.
