AndyV had better responce contacting Skoda via Facebook as both Customer Services & his dealers were absolute pants

It just might be worth me joining Faceache to do this.  Thanks for the tip.  I see you have your status 20.  I'm jealous as sin .

It makes no sense, does it?  Mine is still on week 40.  I'm becoming more concerned that this is related to mine being a Motability order...

Like yourself peterhardy I too am a Motability customer, I have just placed an order for a bog standard Octavia estate SE 1.4 DSG and have just been informed that I may get it before Christmas or maybe even just after which is pretty poor. A friend who is not a motability customer ordered the exact same spec car last week and has been told to expect delivery mid November so rather looks like we are definitely 2nd class citizens! As this will be my first Skoda I am so far less than impressed.

I did ask the guy who sold me the vehicle that i thought there was a delay in building these vehicles. Answer= Not as far is i know, haven't had any notifications for any delays.

Can't see what Motability has to do with it,

Ordered 13th July (build week 28) advised by dealer my build week is week 37 (11th September) so can expect the car early October perhaps late September.

I'd be very surprized if its a motability issue, more likely just a popular engine choice

I'm really starting to think that this is the case too.  There's too many people ordering the same vRS petrol DSG as me, often with more options, who seem to be way ahead of me in the build order yet who ordered their cars at the same time as me or later.  Skoda have not addressed this concern when I raised it, saying that they cannot discuss individual cases.  I responded that I wasn't asking them to do this, just to explain why there's this disparity and how it can be that newer orders are being given closer build weeks than mine.  No answers given.  I'm supposed to be getting another call this week so I will wait until Friday and then chase them up again.  It might be worth you giving them a call as well.

You're right, Motability shouldn't have anything to do with it...

Just to add my two cents.

Went on Sat to order a manual 245 was quoted 30 week order and 26 weeks for a manual 230. The salesman estimated it 'could' drop and couldn't give me a reason why.....?

Eventually found a a cancelled manual  230 hatch in moon white with black pack+  at another dealers....

Which in the grand scheme of things isn't that bad.....B)

OMG 30 weeks, you've gotta really love it for that kinda wait.

Those are crazy lead times. So if you ordered a 245 they are quoting Feb/March 2018 delivery?

Yes. Well that was for a petrol manual, hatch. Not sure if it was the same for a DSG or estate.

The word on the street is that its high demand for petrol engines that is the issue.

When I ordered mine in early June I was quoted 16-20 weeks.   Hoping BW 33 will be confirmed this week.

I checked with dealer yesterday, mines still on for build week 34. It's not confirmed, just hoping it stays the same, I ordered 23rd June.

Going to check again in a couple of weeks, lets see if they keep to week 33

BW 33 should go to status 20 (confirmed) this week. If that happens I believe its very likely to be built that week.

That would seemed to be quick

Who you gotta suck to get a deal like that?

Haha, it's through simpsons Preston, they gave me week 34 roughly two weeks after ordering, so it's still on week 34 , just hoping it does stay on track, which would be built in 3 weeks time.  They said the car would be at the dealership 3-5weeks after.

I ordered a 1.4TSI Octavia SEL estate on the 15th June (build week 24) and today's check is showing that the car is listed to be built in week 34 (week commencing 21st August) but still comes with caveats that the date might change still. Fingers crossed it stays the same!

I ordered the same car but DSG 1.4TSi SE L Hatch 13th July (build week 28) and was recently quoted build week 37 (week commencing 11th September) - about the same timescale as you give or take - here's hoping.

Had a phone call from Skoda Customer Services this morning.  My car is now showing build week 37, down from 40 and, according to the lady I spoke to, could move forward again.  It's a definite step in the right direction but it's still 19 weeks currently from order week to build week.  I will keep my fingers crossed for more improvement and will post with any update.

I got an email yesterday from my dealer informing me that my build week is now first week of September. My original build week was 37, so looks like it has reduced by 1 week to 36. I ordered on 19th June

I should add that this is a vRS TSI 230
