Hi Ceepan,

Ask your dealer if they've submitted a DISS report & if yes what was the answer.

see my answer to a Mk33 Superb problem which explains the DISS system here,  https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/385044-poi/?page=8

The dealer has raised this.  DISS stands for Direct Information Service System.

Dealer phoned and it is a calibration issue.  Problem they now have is that they don't currently have the mirrors required for the facelift model.  The ones presented facelift don't work.  They are waiting on Skoda UK providing a way forward on this.

Well, I would never expect a dealer to admit that they did not understand their own cars.

I wouldn't believe you should wait for a "software fix" for an issue like this.

If there is a software update it would already be available in the system for the dealer to install.

They wont make & special software just for your car & they wouldnt release a car without a software being available for it.

You are on the right lines though asking for a full written explaination of the problem & how it will be fixed.

When you get closer to a resolution you could also ask for a gesture of goodwill for your inconvenience, like X years free servicing or a nice replacement car while you wait.

It has been fixed.  Further instructions from Technical got the dealer to remove the sensor, reprogram it and put back in place. Problem solved.  They brought it out to me this afternoon at work.  Have only driven it home so far but it is very nice.  The dealer has brilliant throughout this.

Wouldn't that be the first thing to try?

I also had a problem with my car very early after purchasing (the now well known BoostPressure sensor issue from 2014).

The experience I had from the dealership was also excellent & fast.

Rather than feeling worried & upset that my new car had a fault, I left feeling happy my issue was resolved so fast without any questions & confident knowing that if I was to have a problem again I was in good hands.

This goes a long way for dealer satisfaction ratings & I know where I will go first for my next car...

Enjoy your new car..!

The dealer has to do exactly what Skoda Technical tell them or they can't claim for the work carried out.

Not strictly true.

A dealer that has 'fitters' rather than mechanics will just follow instructions. If they don't work they don't know what to do next, in goes the DISS report and sit back and wait for a response.

Other dealers will attempt one or 2 quick things first, in effect all they have done is reset it and reapplied the coding, less than 10 minutes work. Probably quicker to do than completing the DISS report.

The fix meant that to get access to the sensor they had to remove the bumper.  I don't think that is 10 minutes work.  It is also not really what you want to have to do with a new car.  The dealer did try various things to re-calibrate the system.  Ultimately Skoda Technical were providing the information on how to reolve.

I know the sensor location has changed with the FL, but to disconnect it you shouldn't have to remove the bumper.

It sounds more like it wasn't mounted correctly, which is a different issue and probably would need the bumper to come off.

It annoys me that they use the excuse that they don't get paid unless Skoda authorise, they can be authorised after performing a fix.
