Good morning one and all

 

New here, but have been loitering for a while.

 

Long story short, I want to change from my Insignia Elite Nav to a Superb III L&K 190 DSG.  I've seen one I like in Quartz Grey and has a few options.  My only sticking point is that it's nearly 18 months old but has clocked up some 47K!  I asked the question of its history and was told it was previously a taxi...but a higher end vehicle like the L&K, in my mind, is more than likely an ex-private hire "taxi".  Price wise, it's going for a shade under £19k (but I'm aiming to haggle to get this down, if I go for it, and possibly get the part-exchange on the Insignia up...).  

 

It's in good condition - I couldn't see any holes in the dash for meters, and the seats looked really good for the mileage (my Insignia is at 63K, is 7 years old and is in much worse condition).  

 

Question - when is the cam belt on the 2.0 TDI 190 due - i.e. mileage or age, or both?  I've just (as in late last year) shelled out to get the Insignia's cam belt and water pump done, so don't want to have to get this done if it's, say, in 10k time.  

 

Once I've crunched some numbers I may be a new owner and a much more frequent visitor to the site

Well, took her for a drive today and she's a beaut, so smooth, so quiet, so refined (compared to my Insignia).  Tried to get them down on price, but they're already underpricing it (showed me a print detailing options and original price and what price it should be going for today).  Just running some numbers to make sure it'll be worth my while and will press the go button.

 

For those who want to know, the cam belt change interval is 140,000 miles or 5 years, whichever is sooner, so that's some breathing room at least.

The L&K is a great specced car. 

Still seems high for the mileage and age. Saying that the Superbs are known for eating up the miles effortlessly. As long as there is warranty left, actually saying that, if they won't budge on price, see if you can get an extended warranty on it.

We have a Yeti and I'm searching for another car as well but not sure what yet.  It could eb a Superb! 

TBH there are a good few around, Personally I would look for one with a more "average" mileage.

Had mine for bout a month now and love it especially after saying id never own a Skoda I can even say its the best car ive had for a long time., Just got back from a 300+ mile trip and the car was effortless mixed driving 59.2 mpg  

 

my advise take a good look round even if means travelling a bit further than normal, although a higher millage car is not necessary a bad car IMO

We'll see...at the price it's at it may have gone by the time I've made my final decision.  They also have a new shape Octavia VRS which is SAWEEEEEEEET!  but that's a little outside of my price range.  

 

I'm happy to hold on to my money if they can't come up with a sweetener - but it is a very nice car!
