The resistance goes up as they heat up.  They draw 100mA hot so 1.2W each.  Just test the fuses in the engine bay and see which one is switched and piggy back off that.

I can remember seeing something in VCDS about going off a Left light or indicator feed, Which is a bit odd, I have definitely seen it in VCDS coding. There is a site that sells the kit for about €75 with how to wire it up. But you have to purchase it to get the wiring diagram. It's on the list to do, more as a gimmick than anything.
