Karoq Order Times (2 factories now)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone got a recent build date from Skoda? I ordered Karoq DSG 1.6 TDI SE Technology. Few upgrades like Vario sests, electronic boot opener and extra ISO fix point.

My order was placed on 31 July and advised 12-15 weeks.

Reading above seems ambitious.

Anyone had any recent feedback from dealers or Skoda?

I'm not sure if all are aware, but if you order the Canton Sound System you loose the useful dashboard top storage due to a large speaker needing the space.   Colin

Sometimes a dealer has a car on order and they can reconfigure it before the build date so in that case you'll get a quicker turn around in theory but that depends on options you had as they sometimes have supply issues on some of the options. I ordered end of August and was informed that it should be November, I'll take that with pinch of salt!

?

Do you know then the price and spec of the Karoq you ordered and are going to get?

I've been told it will be MY19 spec. As Skoda UK don't have the spec and price as yet they claim it will be available in next couple of weeks.  In addition I've been informed that digital dash isn't going to be released until end of November.

lol,

So dealership sales executives / finance directors / Principal Dealers just order up their allocation, no wiser on the prices or the VED etc,

just spec them as they can without actually knowing the spec, take what the get, then Skoda UK / VW will see them right.

Sound about right with this fiasco.

Hi, just checking on my order (being built last week) and expected delivery date etc. Told  not built due to shortages of right hand drive dashes.

What spec was your Karoq and date your ordered? I've not had any update since my order on 31st July.

Is that the standard dash or digital?

1.5 DSG SE L,Drive assist package and ordered early July.

Presumably standard dash as no mention on spec sheet of a digital option.

Unless MY19 SE L spec have digital dash as standard as not been released until end of November.

Ordered my 1.5 TSI 150ps SEL DSG 26/08. Was informed yesterday by Horton Skoda my build week was week 39/40 with delivery November. Only additions being ACC and heated front screen. Seems forever.

Ordered my 1.5tsi sel manual 24/8 with the following options: ACC, digital dash, family pack, spare wheel and heated screen. Not heard anything since and it was a car the dealer had in system already but could still change. Was told November at ordering but think that's unlikely.

DSG 1.6 TDI SE Technolog - ordered 31.07

My dealer advised my that the DSG's are planned for production in September, yet I still have no build week.

I just contacted Skoda and was advised i have an unconfirmed build week of 39 (24- 30th Sept). They said they are not aware of any delays due to right hand dash stock.

lets wait and see.

Hi lee1664, I have just contacted skoda uk and they have confirmed that there is no shortage of RH dashboards. Also said my vehicle was in build week 36 (started Wednesday) and takes approx 2 weeks also being built to my19. See what dealer has to say on Monday

dealer add

What is my19 spec as not seen any info on it and Skoda UK didn't have update early this week.

?

Lee1664,

Where has the mention of 'Right hand dash' come from in this thread.  Who said there was right hand drive car dash shortages?

Has someone got mixed up with 'Digital Dashes or Virtual Dashes'.

All getting a bit more weird.

More weird that people have cars ordered without knowing the actual spec of what is coming and Skoda UK can not tell you.

Sorry, got the wrong poster reading on the phone.

I ordered a 2.0 4x4 Edition Karoq on 28th July.

initially the build week was indicated as Week 42, then went to 39 and then back to 42.  Just contacted the Live Chat on the Skoda website for an update and the build week has been pushed back again to Week 43.  There was no mention of any issues with the supply of parts.

I've been given a unconfirmed build of week 45. But I live chatted to Skoda UK and they informed me that 1.5 TSI engine can't be ordered at the moment due to wltp. My order was placed 24 August

hi, just progressed my order with Skoda UK and mentioned dealer said " held up due to lack of rh drive dash boards " last week,  which skoda UK  said not true and now -tonight- skoda UK stated

"We have recently been updated on the issue regarding Right Hand Drive Dashboards and apologies, this is correct"   Your Karoq has not yet entered the build process.            no update from the factory with a date yet.

Rang customer services this morning. Mine is due to reach Embden today. Handover 3 to 4 weeks. Ordered about 22 May

Also been advised by Skoda that my unconfirmed build date (week 39) is unlikely. They said my order should have a confirmed date at this late stage. They confirmed the shortage of RH Dashboards but could not tell me if this was the reason why mine is delayed.

Probably a contributory factor, but there could also be a shortage of something else which has not yet been discovered on a public forum.

With such a rationalised range now on sale, (see thread on September 2018 brochure), probably don’t have much incentive to make the back orders ahead of the specs that can be sold, especially if the back orders are not yet WLTP certified and would need to go into storage for a while.   Might annoy customers but basic economics says need cash flow from sales, stock eats cash.
