I'm not sure if all are aware, but if you order the Canton Sound System you loose the useful dashboard top storage due to a large speaker needing the space.   Colin

Dealer called back, and we have build week 12, delivery about mid April.  WOOOHOOO

I know build times can change, but assuming they don't - do they prioritise certain models? Ours is a 1.0 tsi DSG ordered on 22/01, 3 days before you.

But we've been shown it on the system as BW9, 3 weeks before yours?

I'm not compaining. It just seems odd

I don't know.

I had extras too..................

heater windscreen

rough road package

park assist

personalisation of drivers keys

adaptive cruise control

active light assist

Lets hope that they come sooner rather than later now that the Karoq is being built at two factories now.

1.5 TSi DSG Candy White SEL Heated wheel and ACC....wait for it. Order went in 30th Jan and have been told week commencing 11th June (BW 24 ?) and won't be at the dealer until mid July. Oh good.

I did suggest to the business manager that the digital dash should be available by then and they might pop one in to say so sorry you have to wait nearly 6 months for a mid level SUV!!!!!!!

Apparently the wait time is now around 17 weeks. I know the dates can move but come on.

when the yeti came out first there was a wait time of around 12 months!

They would have been returning my deposit

My L&K Superb II was 18 weeks and I was lucky. To state the obvious (no insult intended) it is simply down to demand and I believe that they opened a second line as well.

Oh I appreciate there is a huge demand for the car but for it to go from around 12 to 17 weeks and only about a week difference between order dates between me ordering mine and someone who a week before is strange. Hwy ho

Count yourself lucky. Here in Finland, my order went in on 28/12 and I haven't got a build date yet!!

The vehicle had its official launch weekend in the UK and in other parts of Europe in between the order dates, it's no surprise the wait time has gone up as - if Skoda got their launch weekends right - orders should have spiked.

Should that not mean that you will be having the revised 2019 Karoq?

Given how they changed the Superb III as the build weeks went by it does make me think what it may come with, hence my quip about the digital dash. Don't expect that to happen mind.

if I must wait 6+ plus months to pick up I m going for the qaskai n connecta.too poor delivery date!

From my experience with VAG vehicles, model changes are announced for the next year's build in April, build beginning week 24.  Perhaps worth enquiring with Skoda?

Order placed 1st Feb. Build week 16 (end April). And apparently 6-8 weeks delivery after that.

Pretty basic....

1.5 petrol manual

If this holds true we'll be waiting until June :-(

Had a call from a different dealer that I made enquiries with on Tuesday. Out of interest asked him about delivery times. He has been told to advise up to six months on petrols, three to four months on diesels.

Bought a 323 years ago and had to wait 8 months. Reason given was the 2.3 was used in the 3,5 and 7 series. Not sure if VAG are adding the 1.5 to existing models that have previously had other engine options.

Does anyone one know if the 1.5 petrols are all made in the same factory for all four manufacturers?

Could be as you say with the petrol. I am guessing the 1.5 will be on a rolling replacement of the 1.4 in other VAG models.

VW group (Europe) make engines in following  (don't know which types, or if they get shared)

Chemnitz, Germany

Gyor, Hungary

Martorell (Barcelona), Spain

Kvasiny, Czech

Mlada Boleslav, Czech

Not sure if they also make them at Wolfsberg in Germany

There are some other locations that make the specialised big engines for Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborgini

There seems to be a Europe wide shortage of 1.5 tsi engines

VW didn't forsee the change from diesel, Germany and UK (2 of biggest markets) have dropped to only about 30% of new cars being diesels, so group have excess diesel production capacity.  From what I have heard some production lines are due to re-tool to petrol engine production over the summer break (July), but by the time these are fully up to speed, and have cleared a 3-5 month backlog will probably be Christmas

The boys on the SEAT forums are moaning about the same issue. The 1.4 has recently been superseded by the 1.5TSi and there are lengthy waits for any car spec'd with that engine.

As Surreyjohn say above, VW have got over capacity in diesel now but they are not the only one. The sudden change in government attitude to diesel after the emissions scandal (remember it wasn't just VAG) has driven a lot of folks to petrol cars and caught manufacturers on the hop. There have been some very good lease deals around on diesels recently as manufacturers have an oversupply of those engines. Jaguar have just laid off a bunch of workers and are blaming the drop in diesel sales.

So much for a drop in diesel car sales (according to this) :  https://www.petrolprices.com/news/number-diesel-cars-record/ .

Once again, it's all smoke and mirrors - or just mirrors if you're driving a Euro 6 car...

According to one car trader magazine second hand diesel cars are selling fast and the second hand values of diesels are going up!.

I suppose all those with euro 5 are swapping for those earlier euro 6 without the pig p***
