  • SO glad, that I will get one of the last 1.4’s so I don’t have to deal with GPF

  • Not sure what gains a 7 speed box will make, a digital dash would be a good bit of bling but not sure it will be worth the cost after the initial play with it. Then there is the cost of a drop in powe

  • I like it.

Quick news update BAD MORNING for EUROPE but a GOOD AFTERNOON so we lead those pesky yanks 5points to 3points after day one.:D

Golf is the most boring spectator sport in the universe. Its also the most obscenely overpaid sport. Watching the kettle boil is more interesting.

I do wish you'd get off the fence and tell us what you really think...

Lucky people! Mine was also built in week 34 but has been delayed due to WLTP. I've been told by Skoda UK week 44 or 45 for delivery which is the first two weeks of November.

Make sure you get photos up of your new cars please B)

Is it true that they've removed one of the wheels so it could get through WLTP? :giggle:

Probably the steering wheel. Lol

Ah but did you go for a petrol version? I have been told mine had its own WLTP test as I had many extras added.

Yeah just comes with paddles which you steer by sticking out the window approaching corners.

Ah that is what those paddles are for. I did wonder. Thank you.

I did yes. I'm glad I'm a patient person, it's been a long slog!

Haha that's brilliant

Well I was impatient so went for diesel. It will also be a good excuse to do more miles. A big car like that is good for longer journeys with loads of room.

272 petrol is good excuse to do more miles... faster ;)

Not per tank though :tongueout:

But as the legal speed limit in the UK is 70 mph on motorways I would be frustrated in having a motor that would do 150mph but couldn't do it. I have no plans to go on the autobahn. Also a 272hp petrol would be thirstier and more to insure. I pass on that one.

No but diesel likes to be driven more to clear the particulate filter and to justify the original extra cost of diesel.

It's a screen saver not a sport!

Quick Golf update it's Europe 8points and USA 4points at lunchtime on day 2, unless your still watching/sniffing paint which is obviously more exciting.:tongueout:

Isn’t golf described as “a good walk, ruined”?

Back in WLTP, manufacturers do indeed now have to test with all of the options available.  I think they are only allowed to turn the BRW (or windscreen if fitted) and AC off as well as not going for as light a car as was allowed under the previous mess of loopholes!

Good to see that PHEV hybrids are also coming into the VED tax bands due to the test regime lasting longer than the batteries can provide ‘zero emissions’ for.  That was always a con.

I wondered why you were talking about a Golf on a Skoda forum, but then the ball dropped...........
