First impressions - 1.0tsi SE DSG

Featured Replies

Picked the car up this aft. As luck would have it, mini Beast from the East v3 dumped all over us so just quick drive back home.

Despite the bigger size, seems to pull away like our last two 1.2 DSG Yetis did. Loving the screen and the dials behind glass, coupled with higher definition, gives the impression of an e-dash. Folding side mirrors are new for us.  Like the trim design. Yeti tunnel mat fits fine. Swapped out the rear carpet mats for all weathers, so all set for the run out to York tomorrow with the grandkids.

Got bluetooth and Android Auto set up for our phones. Even with my old longer USB A to C lead, our phones fit under the cover fine. A 20/25cm lead with a right angle adaptor will be perfect.

All in all, nice handover, delighted. So far

Lovely.

So good for your health, parking at the furthest corner of car parks & such and protecting the paint / body.

Already decided on the far corner at the Park n Ride tomorrow. York centre, no chance

It'll pass. In two years with our last Yeti, just had one slight scuff from some numpty. That first one is the worst then you calm down.

My first even black car was a Toyota iQ and that was enough hard work looking after. So small, so much a magnet for stones.

Then after saying never a black car i got an immaculate 12 year old Volvo, well it was after i had spent days working on it,  i was a car sprayer,

the first time i took it to Tesco someone put a trolley along the passenger door even though it was in a Disabled Bay. At the point i gave up bothering.

In our two car days, we had his n hers Diamond Black metallic Passat and Polo combo. We know all about black,  but really wanted to feel a change this time.

Looks great.  Glad you’ve got it.  Did they let you keep the dust sheet for when it’s parked in your garage? It does look good in black I have to say.

Sadly, my garage days are over. And they kept the sheet :D

My normal stance when Mrs G is driving is arms rigidly outstretched, eyes tight shut, and head averted in terror.

And sometimes I get really scared.

Congrats Michael, it looks great. And an impressing hand over. Is it usual in UK or are you just the customer?;)

Certainly normal at our dealer. They did the same with our previous car, a Yeti. I think most Skoda UK dealers do something similar. All the showrooms seem to look the same and they have the space.

Don't they do it in DK Janse?

No. I have never experienced it nor have I heard of any who have.

When I collected my lease Superb the dealer chucked the keys to the Business manager I was dealing with (not from the dealership) and said, "it's around the back". Not the best experience.

Congrats - it looks very nice in black. Mine is energy blue and a lease. If I was buying though I’d be very interested in Black.

Had mine in the motorway today  for a couple of hours. It’s fine - but not very economical. As you would expect the little motor is working very hard.

Whats the energy blue like getting on mine

Very nice Michael. Just walked past it with the dog. Bet your neighbour with the Alteca is as jealous as me! Looks so much better than the Seat. Were the grandkids impressed? How much of an improvement on ride quality is it over the Yeti? It seemed quite a bit better to me on the test drive but I was in an edition on 19” wheels around town. York and back should have given you a good feel for it.

Have a look towards the bottom of this page for another poster’s photographs.

I wouldn’t choose it again - but it’s not too bad. As someone else said - it’s easy to spot in a car park!
