It is amazing what you can get with these small turbo petrol engines with a little anticipation in light urban traffic.

Good average speed

I can’t get my VRS (petrol) over 40mpg. ); );

I'm pretty happy if my VRS 245 exceeds 30mpg.

1000 miles in 4 weeks and getting age 31mpg out of my 230.

With calmer/family driving recently my 6k mile avg is upto 25mpg

I can get my 230 into the mid 30's, although getting it into the low 20's or high teen is much more fun...........

I did manage early 30’s yesterday with less spirited driving lol

but I like the grunt it has and am too happy with the right foot. Lol

I can easily achieve over 50mpg knocking about in our 1.2TSi Manual which is better than our 1.6tdi DSG. But on longer runs or higher speed motorway work the TSi doesn't improve much but the TDI can be in the mid 60's.

So proud of you :)

Been for a spin to Leeds today - very happy with the car.

First pic is Outbound and was in Cruise all the way set at 78.

Returning home I used Cruise probably 2/3 of the way, and the odd foray into the 80s dodging middle (2) lane hoggers!

That's bloody impressive, I only averaged 51mpg on a 60 mile motorway run yesterday. Have to see what I get on the way back tonight

GOT 15.4MPG in Germany recently but was doing 165MPH, so much for the limited top speed!

Just indicated or GPS confirmed?

Just indicated on the maxidot but did feel extremely quick did not have a chance to check the rev counter to verify actual speed. Once sat in passenger seat on Bruntingthorpe 2 mile runway in Jaguar XJ220 REGISTRATION  P22 0XJ at 305kph (190mph) and owner said if it wasn't for the headwind that day we could have nudged 200mph. A couple of years earlier Autocar hit 210mph at the same venue in the 240mph Mclaren F1.

Only 48.8 on the way back - hardly dropped below 70mph the whole way down the M40, round the M25 & down the M23, so a bit disappointed. Guess I'll have to wait for it to settle in (and maybe pump the tyres back up to the Eco setting - they were on 2.7 bar from the dealer, but the filler cap said 2.1 so I let some out)
