Afternoon all,

Does the 245 come with Autominous Emergency Braking as standard?

Thanks

Doesn't need it with those big brakes at each corner unless you suffer from ADHD like a couple of my colleagues seem to!

Good effort but it's harder to achieve over a relatively short commute of 26 miles.

But, is an indication of when it's planned true, it may bounce around a bit but, I honestly feel you are putting a negative spin on these things

Can now join this thread after collecting today.

enjoy pal

I also got a PB today of 45mpg in my manual estate. Good going with the 49s and 50s!

Even so, it still makes us feel like eco driving gods.

By contrast it was sport mode and not a lot of mpg on the way home tonight.

I know pretty much every review has the same outcome for the vRS, but it definitely is a fantastic all rounder.

Has anyone got the dsg noise on upshift as yet? I know I know some don't like it or it sounds tacky...but I test drove a pre fl 230 dsg sone years ago and liked the noise then.

My 245 on 2k doesn't make a single note.

think you habe to be at the rear and when in sports mode you just hear the exhaust through the speakers lol

To celebrate 300 hours total driving time in the 245 today managed a brief blip upto 100 mph and still averaged 44.2 mpg on the way to work. Last 100 hours average speed only 34 mph and 38.5 mpg mainly down to the wife using my car more and her 1 hour commute at an average of 26 mph has lowered both these figures. People can still tell it's a fast car because she gets asked even after 326 days since we picked the car up is it hers. She says no it's my husbands. Her 5 month old Karoq apparently gets very little attention in comparison. Still really pleased with the 245 and puts a big smile on my face every time I drive it. Good job SKODA!

100mph. I’d keep that to yourself if I were you.....

It's mad how 100mph is frowned upon in here by some people. The speed limit in Ireland is 72mph on motorways and you can quite easily hit 100mph on a quite day and open road without putting anybody at risk. Speed cameras are few and far between over here :D

70mph in the UK, but in Germany i can drive at 170mph quite safely in the same car.

Has anyone found the top speed yet ? I've not been up the M1 toll road section for a few years

In the UK if you are caught doing 100mph (in fact 30mph over the speed limit whatever the speed limit is) then you can expect to be taken to court and receive an automatic ban usually at least 30 days.

It's a risk some people are willing to take - I'm no saint in 2003 I was caught doing 77mph in a 50mph limit (27mph over the limit) and was given the option of paying to attend a speed awareness course AND get 3 points on my licence, or opt for a court appearance which would result in a large fine AND 6 points - guess which option I took?

Much more lax here, I usually try to stay within 20km/h of the limit on roads with 100 / 12km/h limits. I would never speed on a road with a limit lower than that, too risky in terms of cars pulling out of junctions etc.

FYI the punishment for getting caught doing 100mph on a motorway here is only 3 points and 80 euro fine!

Not so, I personally know of a PCSO caught at +155mph ( the police X5's top speed) whom got 6 points & £449 fine

160MPH indicated as standard and 165MPH modified, both on a decent German motorway of course. Could have probably got 168MPH out of it but Toyota SUV with no mirrors curtailed the fun when it pulled into my lane at 110KPH.

PCSO - not your average "Job Public" then.

I personally know of 2 former colleagues who were caught doing between 105 and 110mph on the M3, both received a 30 day ban, 6 points and a 4 figure (>£1000) fine.

PCSO plastic police yeah but, their Professional Standards Dept. were after him big time, for gross misconduct. Surprisingly he left when Aston Martin offered him a job !!!

To be clear, I’m not ‘frowning upon’ 100mph as I know the 245 can do that speed very safely in the right circumstances.

I am simply suggesting the poster is careful (on a public forum) about his posts relating to the speeds he gets up to on his (presumably) UK commute.
