Still no build week!

Featured Replies

I’ve looked at the list and see the scout is listed sepereatly, I have a sportline 2.0 Tdi 190 DSG on order, is that now approved or will it have to be tested separately like the scout?

Are the 4x4 models tested separately to the front wheel drive models?

    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

I take it none of you are keeping an eye on the ADAC website as posted earlier?

The 1.5 TSI has been added in the last day or so, the engine has now gained it's WLTP certification for use in the Kodiaq...

Expect your pre-built 'banked' cars to be dragged out of their muddy Czech field any day now :D

With a 2.0TSI in order I probably check this list more than anyone :D

But as JaroT said, apparently only the 2x4 1.5TSI is approved. Now I dont now for sure but they dont specify the 4x4s when it comes to the Kodiaq, but as we now the 140kW only comes with four wheel drive and the list does not specify that.

No one knows for sure, but it is thought the Scout is listed separately due to it's (supposedly) higher ride height, which has a direct effect on the emissions.

The 2.0 TDI, in both power outputs, are listed, suggesting it's good to go in both manual / DSG and 2WD / 4x4, but again no one knows 100%.

The diesel engines don't seem to have been affected as much by the WLTP testing.

My conclusion is that the Sportline is the same as the normal Kodiaq when it comes to WLTP. The Scout has a different ground clearance and probably some more weight to it due to the bad road package.

Yes but it can be ordered, the prices are set.

The 1.5 4x4 will be approved very very soon.

Interesting, because there is no Kodiaq 1.5 TSI 4x4 in the Slovakia neither in the Czech price lists valid from 19.Oct.2018:

Yes, I think so since each model/configuration can affect the results e.g. different weight, different weels, DSG, manual, 4x4, 2x4 can affect the results of WLTP so they need to tested separately , btw that's why it takes so long to test them since they have to be tested all.

And based on previous I think that the Kodiaq 1.5 TSI 4x4 could not be tested yet because it is not build yet but it is only my assumption.

It’s currently being sold in Norway.

As there are no «4x4» behind models in the list and 190TDI only comes with 4x4, my reasoning tells me that 4x4 is included with the WLTP approval with each engine.

But I could be wrong.

In the specifications for Kodiaq, there are only Diesel engines with 4x4 (four-wheel drive) but the 1.5 TSI there are only with 2x4 (front wheel drive) so based on this info too I assume that there is not 1.5 TSI 4x4 available so far.
Kodiaq spec. form 22.Oct.2018 - https://cdn.skoda-storyboard.com/2016/08/TD-KODIAQ-en-1.pdf

I noticed that the 2.0TSI is removed from the Norwegian pricelist.

Called my dealer and as it seems right now the car will not get built before week 3 2019.

Jaro, the 1.5TSI 4x4 is sold in France, see the latest price list here (updated 1st November 2018 for MY2019): http://iframe.skoda.fr/doc/brochures/MY2019_TARIFS_KODIAQ_01112018Version1.pdf They also keep selling 2.0TSI.

For the 2.0TSI I have to be optimistic and I do hope it will get its WLTP done by W48. The Superb 2.0TSI showed up as tested on the ADAC yesterday, in AUDI last week. My dealer (here in France) told me this week, that my car is expected to arrive before Xmas. I just think that different countries have different quotas and it is useless to compare delays announced in various countries in Europe. Just keep cool everyone and be patient :) It is moving on right now, as we write :)

"the dealer should be able to tell you."

A new slogan that Skoda can put on their adverts',  Simply Clever, should could and would if only they knew!

"Please manage customers delivery expectations."   or should that read

"Please massage your customers delivery expectations, string them along to ensure no canceled orders'."

The new slogan for Skoda is "Simply Never" ...

I can live with a late delivery, but I cant stand the fact that no one, NO ONE can give me any answers to why this particular engine/model setup is delayed.

Take Octavia, Superb, A3, A4, A5 etc all had the 2.0TSI prior to WLTP - now approved.

I swear the day I see the Tiguan 2.0TSI on the list Im launching a DoS\DDoS attack on their official website :tongueout:

Been on with skoda uk today. It's now just a matter of sticking to script I think. For the last 2 weeks I've been told it's on it's way to port of exit emden. Now I'm told they can't tell exactly where car is shipped, docked etc, only that it's still expected to be delivered to uk dealer by 19th or 26th of November. Can't see it as I'm in Northern Ireland and I'll need to wait for 2 boats all in all.

If an engine listed as wltp approved then that engine has been approved immaterial of drive train etc,end of.

It can only be certified once all combos of, gearbox, 2 or 4wd (if applicable) wheel size options  (again if applicable) trim/spec level and optional extras available. Otherwise in Skoda/VWs case the list of permutations approved would be stupidly long and also I dont think it would have met the criteria the have some tested and some not.

I figured the most popular and/or frugal engined would be done first just so the hey can clear the backlog quickest,  (150 tdi, then 150 tsi then 190 tdi) the 2.0tsi isn't a volume seller by a long stretch, I'd imagine even 5% of sales would be the figure and probably less. That's why I gave up waiting in August, I'd spent 4 months waiting and by the the looks of it would have waited and other 6 -8 months for it.

Just off the phone to Skoda CS and my 20.Tdi 4x4 Edition was built last week on schedule and is currently at the port of exit :)

Have been told 4-6 weeks for delivery, so may have it in time for Christmas if I'm lucky, woohoo!!!!

@London_taffy Wrong.  Approval has been stupidly long as you might notice.

What they thought was frugal was not when properly tested and such that retesting later would not just show the same old kidology and hence did not meet the Emissions and so they had to get that right.

Jealous of the cars that are starting to come through. Why did I pick the 2.0 TSI, WHY!!

FFS.. asked the dealer for update. Apparently car is waiting approval and is at the factory!!! I genuinely hate dealing with skoda.

What wrong where?

Quite a lot about WLTP testing and approval.  Engines and drivetrains tested and approved and covering them all.

Okies.

Educate me.  As I understand it wltp used a more realistic driving test to get the co2 emissions and mpg figures.

Part of that test is now to also include permutations of spec and thus their impact (or not in a few cases on those figures)

Really manuals an auto are tested already to provide their own mpg etc figures. Now it includes other options and wheel sizes too.

Found his on vauxhals website for convenience.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEDC AND WLTP?

Since the introduction of NEDC in 1992 cars and driving styles have changed quite a bit. The WLTP test parameters have been redefined to reflect real conditions more closely. They now include:

  • Longer cycle times (30 min vs 20 min)
  • Shorter stopping times (13% vs 25%)
  • Longer distances (about 23 km/14 miles vs 11 km/6 miles)
  • Higher speeds (max. 130 km/h / 80 mph vs 120 km/h / 75 mph)
  • Almost 50% higher average speeds
  • Higher maximum acceleration and more acceleration phases
  • Approximately 20-30% higher driving power based on the more dynamic driving situations
  • More realistic determination of driving resistance for fuel consumption tests
  • Consideration of optional equipment in the vehicle

The values obtained with WLTP are comparable worldwide, while the NEDC values are only valid in Europe.

The test is longer  and includes options etc as well as manual/auto .  Vag can't test everything at the drop of the hat it takes time, morso if hey want to get decent figures and also knowing the fact that he world is watch as the have form for emissions fiddling. They dropped the ball and haven't gotten every engine/model certified and ther is a backlog.

No need to look around the sites and forums it is all around this forum for all of this year and last year as well.

I super a full,  and concise answer.

Thing is I did search it out theha start of the year and found stuff like

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/new-wltp-and-rde-fuel-economy-and-emissions-tests-explained

https://fleetworld.co.uk/reality-check-wltp-rde-and-the-impact-for-fleets/

https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/manufacturer-news/2018/08/28/wltp-could-spell-the-end-of-optional-extras

Longer more realistic test  not just manual and auto etc

Exactly,  and different variations of the models, wheel size etc.

1.6 TDI now with SCR Karoq manual not allowed to tow etc.  One of the early WLTP approved cars.

Citigo ASG not even Approved, discontinued.
