Still no build week!

Featured Replies

I’ve gone through two Kodiaq delivery cycles. The first took a month from build to delivery, the second took two months.

    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

Ordered my Kodiaq SE Technology 150 4x4 DSG on the 22nd of august with a provisional build date of the 3rd of December. Having had no update from the leasing company through which ordered it, and obviously feeling slightly worried due to the horror stories I've read here, I thought I would check direct with skoda as to its status. Live chat inform me that it still has an unconfirmed build date as of the 3rd of december and that confirmation will only be made 1 week before build.

I then went on to ask about any likely delays due to WLTP however they confirmed certification has been granted for the model therefore normal delivery procedures will apply. What are peoples experiences of length of time from build to actually receiving vehicle? I remember when I ordered my current car (Audi A6) it was around 4-6 weeks.

What is your order??? TDI or TSI???

I leave in Greece...  I made my order last June!  But still nothing know about my order and the build date too... My order is Kodiaq Style, 1,5 TSI, DSG 4x4, 7 seats...

He is talking about the TDI, as you can see they confirmed that his model is WLTP approved - the 1.5 TSI is still not certified.

So... News just in.

I got an e-mail last night from my dealer - he tells me that my 2.0 tsi is now allowed to leave the factory!

I'm not saying it is wltp approved yet - But if it is not, it must be very close. Otherwise they would not send them to the dealers...

Christmas gift on its way.... Let it be a snowy winter! 4x4!

Are you sure they are shipping the car to your dealer now or is it to the banking area?

If the dealer gets the car this is excellent and exciting news - maybe there is some light in the tunnel after all.

It was build in week37. So it must have been banked for several weeks already.

Great news!

About time to make a build-thread then ;)

@mlohnork which country are you in with the car on it's way?

After I saw this, I checked with my dealer (UK). They stated that there is no update on the 2.0TSI and no orders have had an updated status. I ordered end of August and still don't have a build week allocated.

Denmark. Ordered in April. At at dealer who had a booked production spot available. At least that is what he said.

Maybe the situation is different for You guys that drive in the wrong side of the road.

Left side of the road if not overtaking.

So the right side for where the steering wheel is fitted, just the gear change and indicator is at the wrong side.

I really hope this is true as is a positive sign things are moving along with the 2.0 TSI.

Are there different stipulations on WLTP per country or is the WLTP Europe wide?!

Im in the uk and ordered a 2.0 TSI Sportline in July and have been told the car was built in week 39 and has been ‘banked’ at the factory. I was told a few weeks ago now that delivery was expected around the end of the year but I saw someone on Facebook group say their 2.0 TSI order was now not expected for deliver until February by their dealer. So I’m really hoping that’s not the case for all!!

World wide harmonisation,   but there are plenty around the world that are not going to trust something the EU comes up with.  So not globally excepted.  Like when vw do world wide recalls that some how excludes Europe.

They are probably right. On my way home from work i will drive in left side since it is safer. See You out there!

I have a Swedish friend who says the same thing.  Mind you, he is also a screaming alcoholic and got thrown out of the army for doing precisely this with a great big truck (apparently full of alcoholics who were screaming while he did it).

Sorry, but I have shared fake news. Just got an update from my dealer. My 2.0 tsi has not left the factory, and it has not been approved. = he was not sure i would get the car this year.

He told me the other engines were wltp tested. You can decide yourselves if You find that trustworthy.

Sorry about this.

All the cars will be ready for sell after 1/1/2019

Source?

Breaking news that Skoda CZ would probably like to know the source of!

The source is the Greek Skoda Company... I mean for Kodiaq Style edition, 1.5, TSI, DSG,  7 seats and some other models that are affected with the WLTP delay of production...

The most of the cars have problem with WLTP will be ready (maybe) at the end of January, or first days of February.

2l petrol Sportline on order since May (UK).  Dealer update this week, February at earliest.  The car has been built but going nowhere...

Always nice to know your brand new £30,000 plus car is sat outside open to the elements through an entire Eastern European winter, with nothing but white sticky-backed plastic on the roof and bonnet to keep the bird poo off the paint.

Even modern cars aren't completely air tight. There are going to be lots of condensation and damp related complaints early next year.

It's like the MkII Octavia saga all over again :D (for those old enough to remember).

So Skoda chat have just confirmed to me that no one will receive a 2.0TSI before Week 8 2019! That’s assuming it has been built by then!
