Crikey, that's more than a bit forensic!!!   A couple of months ago my car was cased at 4 oclock in the morning, by a young scummer on a bike, riding up to my car and calling someone to disc

I've worked out where BMW have got their inspiration from, for the new M4 grill

Looks like BMW is about to have a couple of years in the style wilderness. Most manufacturers seem to do this every 10yr or so.

I couldn't live with that, it's fugly and I like some fugly cars with strong styling but that's just irredeemable and soullessly fugly yet at the same time characterless and dull. Quite an achievement.

I've posted before on this and think that although 'Flame surfacing' was mostly panned when it came out, it's now the industry norm and most regular cars without a degree of it nowadays looks boring. Audi grills have been getting bigger and bigger, so I guess BMW wants to resurrect the large vertical grills of yonderyear and try to bring it up to date. I do note that it was quite an angle to it (it's not vertical) and wonder if in the flesh this looks interesting at the least?

@Lady Elanore

Can i suggest before you go to change your car that you refrain from the alcohol,

or you take a test drive to Barnard Castle.

Some how the wheel arches and the wheels look like they were designed by Skoda or Kia.

definitely Kia wheels..

i think, based on passing one todat, they literally took the grill from a brand new X5 and stuck it on the front....

imo, any grill so big that the number plate either blocks half of it or it has to go on the side of the bumper is awful...

It may be a few years before I change my car, although the M4 will go in 2 years regardless. Will see how quickly I can get back on top of my finances.

I've seen some images of the car on lower suspension and it looks much better than in the poverty spec and high-rise suspension settings. I think the M4 will have a great stance regardless of how you view that front. It's grown on me quite a bit in the last couple of weeks surprisingly. I've never bought a car on looks through so it doesn't worry me too much.

Here's Car Wows take and he seems to also think that the grill might grow on you. One thing that occurs to me is it needs bigger wheels to balance the shape. 19" would be better and probably when the staggered ones come in with the CS (I assume) the car will look its best. It needs to be as low as possible too and the rear three quarters look a little heavy from some angles at least to me. It's an interesting shape, 8 series at the back and something of a Jaguar/Gopher front mash-up. I'm quite excited to see it, at least it's different and they made an effort, good or bad.

My Dad has some bi-focal glasses which may improve the look and why are BMW buying Stinger GTS alloy wheels from KIA?B) Nearly forgot the 420i with a stonking 184bhp is almost £40,000.

So if an ugly Billionaire proposed to you then you say sorry I couldn't marry you and drive that Lambo because I find you unattractive?;)

The reason I think it will grow on us is vertical grills have been around for nearly a century and there are hundreds of different models that sported them good and bad. No reason for it to shock us really, other than we are a bit out of touch with the design language

If an ugly billionaire proposed to you then you would say sorry to her and say "I couldn't marry and drive that Ferrari because I find you unattractive"

I've been happily married for 16 years to a very attractive woman who attracts admiring glances from other men which I take as a compliment to my excellent taste in a lifelong partner so the question to me is irrelevant.:blush

I had hoped in the 21st century at least, the question was irrelevant to everyone, but hey ho

Watch an episode of Selling Sunset on Netflix for your answer to the question.

Looks like the M340i version with 374bhp and starting at £54,000 without options (probably plenty fitted to the car in the video).
