What are the views on Petrol vs Diesel?

Am considering the Scout 2.0 TSI 180PS 4x4 DSG or the 2.0 TDI 150 PS 4x4 DSG.

Options of:

Temporary steel space saver spare wheel (7 seater)
Electrically folding tow bar with adaptor
Heated windscreen
3-spoke leather heated multi-function steering wheel
Rear view camera with LED rear lights high
Driver assistance package
Heated washer nozzles for front windscreen
Colour multifunction trip computer

For your mileage and length of journeys I’d say the petrol is the obvious choice. We only went with diesel because we’re doing double your mileage and mostly long journeys.

My spec is similar to yours, except it's an edition (and swap the tow bar for a sunroof), the RRP was under 39k. Be aware that there are 2 types of heated steering wheels: with and without paddles. Make sure you spec the one you want.

Interestingly I went into my local dealership today to see what kind of deal they could do and whether they could match a very good offer I've had via carwow. They showed me the latest info from Skoda on their online portal showing that a 2.0 TSI Petrol Kodiaq will be open for orders in approx 6 weeks, with a delivery of 23 weeks! This is completely opposite to what I had been told by the carwow dealer (12-14 weeks). They seemed open to matching the carwow price, so may well stick with them for an order.

This worries me as I ordered a 2.0 TSI Sportline back in July. I have been told it will be built week 39 at the end of September and be delivered by end of October. Reading information on a few places leads me to believe all cars built from now after the factory closed in summer will now be built as MY19 and the dealer confirmed my car will be MY19. So I wonder if this is true will I get my car when they say I will?!!
