Skoda connect

Featured Replies

Hi

Myskoda and Skoda connect app has just stopped working! I have a WLAN and a SIM card with data and a mobile hotspot. I am trying to reload the security pin from the Skoda portal all to no avail. The dealer hasn’t got a clue. I have a free initial membership till March ‘19. But probably have used Skoda connect on/off for 2weeks since March this year. I have a mate who has a BMW app that has been working like a goodun. Putting the Skoda app to shame. Any ideas on getting it to work with all it’s supposed bells and whistles??

Thanks in advance. Are there any Skoda gurus out there? Cheers

My app says upgrade to get remote locking etc - I have no idea how and the website doesnt give me any options! Worst app EVVA!

My Skoda app keeps telling me to upgrade to get remote locking etc - however no option to upgrade!

I contact via the chat app on the skoda connect website - you cant! Unless you have  CARE CONNECT - ordered when the car is built - forget it - you will never get this facility.

So no warm toasty car ready for a cold morning, no remote lock checking etc or parking/alarms notification   -

Posted this so others would know as it was never clear to me - all because the app keeps telling me to upgrade - but i bloody well cant!

I really need to get to understand this

A wet day on you tube seems the best option as the manual is hardly great on this topic

its really badly marketed if you can’t use most of the options

I had the same issue in August. You have to remove your car from My Garage on the Skoda Connect website.

Next on the head unit in the car do a factory reset on the Skoda Connect function.

Next re-register for Skoda Connect on the website and get a new pin.

Got it.

It seems I am back in.

What about all the data from the car? I have connected to it in the past and it told when I picked it etc. Now.. nothing. Any ideas?

Each time I have had to reset Skoda Connect the car data has always been there as the data is connected to the car and not your Connect account.

It is usually the uploaded destinations that I lose as these are connected to your account.

Give it 24hrs to see if it sorts itself out.

I'm really frustrated at the lack of extra information I received when ordering my Karoq. I had already done my homework on what extras I wanted but no-one mentioned the Care Connect as a separate thing and the brochure made it look like it was standard. I saw the feature on the configurator but assumed it was just a subscription thing that could be added any time. I'm sure my sales person could have made a few extra £££ if they'd only told me what was on offer...

I'm with you on that @IceyLady its not clear at all. And as most apps can be added to or taken away from you would think it could be configured. Looking at the brochure for the Care Connect it looked like it was an emergency call thing - nothing mentioned that if you dont get this you wont get the other features like 'remote' door locking, pre-heating seats, car warm up etc via the app. Very poor from Skoda - its about the only disappointment I have with the whole Skoda experience. I dont even think the dealers understand this.

I have the Care Connect but the only things I can do via the app is honk the horn and flash the lights.

There is no option to warm the car, pre-heat the seats or open/lock doors.

It does however tell you where the car is parked, how much fuel you have left, driving data and if the car is locked or not.

Care Connect came with the car as I bought an ex-demonstrator but once it comes to an end, I won't be paying for it unless there are substantial improvements.

How are you connecting your car?

A dongle in the USB port? MiFi? The Skoda stick?

And if you use the USB port for this are you just Bluetoothing your Phone?

What about the Apps

I need to get this sorted!!!

I connect via my phone using rSAP Bluetooth. I don't really use the apps as they are basically useless.

The only functions of Skoda Connect / Care Connect that I use are the Online Destination Search, Live Traffic Updates, Send Destinations to Car and Vehicle Data.

I guess you are not an Apple boy then!

No rSAP on Iphones to my knowledge

I will try googling some tricks!!

You should be able to connect it by standard Bluetooth as long as you allow a data connection on your phone.

Yes I agree this is how I felt after finding out this all and I also done homework getting my options.

I went very serious with this. I took complaint (with my summary and images and screen shots) to dealer, Skoda UK and finally motor ombudsman. I lost the case in favour of manufacture.

I did solve my connection problem.  It was a faulty lead. I messed about for ages to try to get the car to connect. I tried another lead and connected immediately.

Let's just say 'the juice is not worth the squeeze'.

I can send destinations remotely to my Nav. .... Well as soon as I connect in the car those sent destinations appear.

I didn't go for Care Connect.....I don't think I'll miss it

On the whole its a rare disappointment in a really good car.

What's worse is when you run Skoda Connect in demo mode and see features like the Auxiliary Heater. You can even set it to run and the countdown timer looks like it doing something! Poor show Skoda - Connect is one hell of a con, and barely worth giving away free, let alone asking for a fee.

It reminds me of the old tv gameshow Bullseye "Look At What You Could've Won"

I've set Rainworth about 100 times as my service partner and it asks me every time....................Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

How do you get demo mode?

If you open the app, at the top left if says 'Try it", then there's the choice of four different Skoda types.

I must be on a different page.

No such option. All I have is Trip Planner, Dealer or Settings

and every time it asks me to set the dealer. Which is there if I go round in circlesto Skoda Connect it is there

I’m on a iPhone not Android

That's strange, I'm on iPhone as well, and it's on the app's on both my phone and iPad, top left. Top right, there's a ? which is a Help section. The bottom of the page is where you log in to your account or add an account.

Does your screen look like this?”

Interestingly on Android I get an option to upgrade to a parking feature where the text N/A is above. Clicking it goes nowhere!!!

It really is a mixed up carp!

It should look something like this, just by opening the app, but before inputting your email address & password.

Then, after logging into your account, you should get something like this:
