Renault fail again to pick up any points can it get any worse. Perhaps they should have spent more of their budget on the car rather than their drivers.:sadsmile:Congrats to Lewis job done, Mad Max upto 3rd in the Championship.:thumbup:Fastest lap and bonus point to Hamilton as well.

Lucky there was a safety car, otherwise Mercedes would have won by the best part of a minute.

Weren't the trophies 5h1t?

Reminds me of when Lewis refused to have his picture taken with the sponsors tacky British GP trophy and insisted the proper RAC Gold Cup be brought out instead.

Are Ferrari actually trying to gift both titles to Mercedes, and indeed 3rd place in the drivers' championship to Vercrashen?

Yes must be their master plan to annoy Seb so much that he leaves and creates a seat for Mad Max who will end at one of the top 2 teams when the music stops and there are too many drivers standing for the seats available.

This is unexpectedly turning into the most one sided season since 2016.

Who will be the sacrificial lambs at Ferrari this year? Vettel and Binotto??

When Max leaves and Gasly gets sacked, who will RedBull be able to get on board?             Bottas, Ocon?

Renault must be pleased to see Red Bull Honda with 87 points and 3rd place in the constructors until they compare their 12 point haul after the first 5 races.:blushOh and 8th place for them.:tongueout:

Why did you ever think Renault would be remotely competitive with RedBull?

Renault haven't been a top team since RedBull was still called Jaguar Racing.

Dutch GP is on.

Riccardo, Hulk, Bottas and others say its a great track to drive, but expect processional races as the track is poor for overtaking -even in F3 cars.

I've seen suggestions that some of the corners will be reprofiled. OTOH Tilke will be commissioned to do so.

I would like corners (where possible) to be wider than the straights that lead into them therefore giving the drivers a choice of different lines in and out to facilitate more overtaking.

Based on FP1 it's Max vs the Mercs this weekend. Car damage and bad setup choices ruined his FP2, but seeing as Gasly was within a second of the fastest time, and earlier Max had a second advantage on his team mate, it's a 3 way fight for pole Saturday I think.

Red Bull always go well at Monaco. Ferrari looking at another 4th & 5th.;)

Vettel and Sante Devote ......

Leclerc performing like Niles.

Looking at the downford on the Merc.  Enough to give 1g downforce at 90 mph.

Where did that pole lap come from then????

The other guy was significantly faster all day.

Lewis keeps it in his back pocket for special occasions. That's why Mercedes pay him $57,000,000 per year.:D

The Mercedes that has historically always been poor in slow corners during the hybrid era suddenly isn't this year.

Their long wheelbase has always been aimed at being the best compromise over the whole year and tracks like Monaco and Singapore have been sacrificed for performance elsewhere. Now they have a front row lockout at the slowest track of the year how worried should the other teams be? Surely this should have been one of the best chances for a non-Mercedes winner.

Think the big difference this year is that the Merc is not eating tyres in a few laps like before, which really helps during the race being able to stay out longer get a good lead and not having to worry about the undercut from Ferrari and Red Bull particularly at Monaco.;)
