Audi TT-S, 4 piston ATE alloy calliper..straight bolt on for MQB platform & works with the 340mm "R" discs...& is way lighter than the 340mm disc standard piston calliper (60mm)

just you have to undo two 200NM bolts to get to the pads....arrgghhh!!….as there is no pad pins etc like normal 4/6/8 etc piston callipers.

straight bolt on for the front? and rear? what about the backing plates?

Front is straight bolt on..callipers, disc & dust shields.....the standard rears on the MQB platform are way too strong anyway...just the fronts seem to be weak..even on my car I cooked the 288mm easy..& had to fit 312mm GTD/GTI...

If you it weight reduction you're after take a look at the GTI Clubsport 2 piece rotors, they're about 1.9Kg lighter & that's unsprung weight so worth about 4 times the weight of calipers

You do NOT fit the Clubsport two piece discs as they are badly designed.....the internal vanes are directional......problem is that VAG chose to have only one direction made...so one disc rotates the wrong way & this disc overheats quicker than the other disc...there was an article on this in VW driver when the Clubsport first came out....& others in the MK7 Forums have found this also...

Plenty of other options & even bigger kits from Vagbremtechniq...infact the Audi TT-S ATE calliper is also used on an Aston...

I know about rotation mass etc...but the weight difference between a 4 pot ATE caliper & the heavy iron sliding fist of the "R" is quite a lot....& that's besides the fact you have two pistons on each side or one piston on one side...(caliper type advantages)

How sure are you they fit under the standard Skoda wheels. I have not tried the TT-S calipers but the problem with all 4-pot calipers I tried is they are tight on normal Skoda wheels and need spacers. VW/Audi wheels tend to have better internal clearance though

All the MQB calipers I have seen are TRW. ATE tended to be used MK5/6 Golf era. Have not seen actual 245/MK7.5 calipers in the flesh but I don't think they will have changed from the Pre-FL/Mk7.  Should make no difference to the disk choice though as they are interchangeable. I have had both ATE and TRW calipers on the same spec disk. Pads are different though

Agreed front & rear calipers are TRW

Front discs are 340mm with 310mm on the rear, both are ventilated.

Front discs, pads & rear discs are the same as the Mk7 golf GTI's R ect

Rear pads are a right ball ache to find being TRW calipers as the sporty Mk7 Golfs are now all ATE calipers. The ETKA system lists them as Part No. 1K0 698 451 K however, the ETKA system shows a photo of them with 1K0 615 415 G printed on them which was found to be originally installed on the Mk6 Golf R cabriolet.

Anyway, finally managed to order the discs & pads from EBC & I'll have to see whether they fit next week once they've arrived until then, I'll just have to drive a little slower !

I'll blow some dust off this topic.

I recently acquired a Raceblue vRS 245 '19 and would like to replace the brakes.

After some searching I came across this forum.

After going through this topic I still have the following questions, and I hope you can help me with it!

I understand that the 245 version has 340 discs in the front and 310 discs in the rear. Both ventilated.

I want to replace the discs with perforated ones from Brembo, in combination with EBC redstuff pads.

Now I have my eye on the following:

Front brake disc: https://www.autodoc.nl/brembo/15251183

Front brakepads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DOVYZQW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Rear brake disc: https://www.autodoc.nl/brembo/8713873

Rear brakepads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YAZBWOO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Can anyone tell me if these are the right parts for my vRS 245?

It's quite an expense, so I'd like to get it right the first time.

Any help (with pictures) is appreciated. Experience experts who have done this trick before would be great of course!

Nice greetings from the Netherlands!
