If I remember correctly, the Eibach rep mentioned that particular car had a 25mm drop.

My sportline 4x4 on h@r. Ask with a pic of it on 18’s with winters on. 12mm spacers all round too

I can not find 25mm lower springs. Can you help me what kind of spring is suitable for me?

See the second post on pg1 of this discussion - it has all the part numbers.

The one I got,  which is the same ones used in the Passat B8 is E10-85-042-04-22.

I wonder how the back will look on this when half-loaded or say during a road trip with stuff and people at the back. I had ~40kg in my boot the other day on my stock Sportline and the rear looked exactly like yours on H&R. Are the H&R progressive springs? Can't remember that. I fear there would be almost no arch gap at all in the above scenarios which somewhat defeats the main purpose on the car (for me at least).

Springs are progressive.. 1 Fully loaded with roof box on, wife and kids in AND luggage.  Still got about 2-3 coils left working on rear.
side on shot probs has a bout 50kg in boot and probs about 100kg in on the rear dirty shot.
still rides pretty well tbf even fully loaded.

That's not as bad as I thought then.

Arghhh... I don't think I have ever been so torn between something ever on another mod before

I'll hopefully decide after I see how the new alloys look on it :tongueout:

Thanks! But you mentioned that an Eibach rep said that the spring is 25mm in the Passat picture. Right? I would like to find the same spring kit as in this picture.

The Passat is a different car to the Superb.

So the same springs will drop differently depending on various factors.

Even within the Superb models, the same spring will drop the height differently based on factory shock/springs setup of Standard vs DCC vs Sportline (without DCC) vs Sportline (with DCC).

These particular springs r quoted at "lowering 35mm from stock height".

Mine has DCC, which is already 15mm lower than stock.  So in total, it only dropped 20mm.

Ok. I see. But my question is that what spring does the passat have what you attached? I need the same low spring for my car as well.

Isn't it stated just below the picture? "below is an example of a Passat B8 DCC with the Eibach Pro-kit springs"

There are no different height Eiback Pro-kit springs (25mm, 35mm, etc), it's just the same set, if that's what you mean.

The reason 25mm was mentioned (even if the springs advertise 30-35mm) is that that car was probably 10mm lower from factory due to DCC. But DCC or no-DCC they both end up at the position/height you see in the picture. If that's what you're after then you can go ahead with that kit.

According to Eibach's catalogue:

Passat 3G2 (hatch) from 08/2014 and on:  E10-85-042-03-22  <<< This is the same kit for the Superb 280/272 hatch.
Passat 3G2 (hatch) from 11/2014 and on:  E10-85-042-02-22

It states that on the November 2014 onwards models (and kit) the rear lowering is 25mm, instead of 30mm for models 08/2014. This has the same front springs as the 08/2014 but different rear springs. I wonder if that would be a better choice for the Superb for people who want to keep the rear a bit higher for loading purposes, rates should be very similar anyway.

These could be just what you are looking for. Adjustable rear platform for 25-45mm drop.
the ones I should have brought but didn’t see them until I got h&r. I do however think front is a bit lower than H&R and I believe the eibach sportline s are a higher spring rate

£360 Coilovers?  :worried:  I appreciate the thought but I think I'll pass!

So these are some no-name shocks paired with Eibach springs do I understand that right?  Not that it would work with my DCC, neither I would ever go for such a huge drop (50mm front :o)  but just out of curiosity.

Would be good to compare rates between H&R and Eibach. On the photos they look almost identical on drop so maybe that's the deciding factor in the end.

They are not coilovers. The front is a spring that replaces standard spring like any other lowering ki but the tears have an adjustable platform to vary the rear height. The term coilover I think is lost in translation

Cheers, that sounds better. Still I wonder how they drop 50mm front with an Eibach spring, probably they use the Eibach Sportline springs which drop 30-50mm instead of the Pro-kit.

To be able to adjust the rear spring without being a coilover my guess is they must be using "coil spacers/buffers", and that's definitely not ideal from a comfort point of view. The "Audi spacer" solution on top of the spring used by another forum member seems to be the right choice if one wants to bring the rear back up 10mm. Decisions, decisions...

Yes they do use the sportline spring

Have you changed the cups?

Hi all. 2019 Superb Estate (non DCC) 272 4x4 here. Have put an H&R rear ARB in already and happy with that.

Car is bottoming out on suspension (bumping) when driven fast on swoopy A/B roads, so I’m looking at tightening up the springs.

Garage is asking me if I want just springs or coilovers. I’m leaning towards just springs, not just because they cost less, but because I want a set and forget installation. It’s a still a long distance touring car and I just want to dial out some of the bounce, without introducing new problems.

Those of you with the Eibach pro kit. You still happy? Wish you’d gone for the super pro? Any other thoughts or tips, having lived with them for a while?

Cheers,

Ben.

From what I have read, I believe springs are not the best option to adress what you're after in a non-DCC car. The DCC suspension in Sport firms up nicely and can control the car even with the shorter suspension travel provided from a set of lowering springs under most occassions but the non-DCC one being softer will probably struggle. Another reason is that the Eibach Pro-Kit is hardly stiffer than stock, they are mostly designed for reducing the ride height so don't expect the effect of an uprated suspension at all.

If I were you and wasn't worrying about looks I'd consider a set of Bilstein B6 dampers on the stock springs. No useability trade-off but a much improved body control. Otherwise if you're looking to remove some of the stock arch gap as well, B6 + Eibachs should work well together.
