Fuel Consumption

Featured Replies

Whats your fuel economy. Mine city drive from 9l 100km but it went up to 14l 100km when I did drive during traffic jam and the rest was driving always shifting at around 3.5-4.0 rpm

Would be useful to know what we are comparing with, since you haven't stated what engine/gearbox you have.

And to be honest it is what it is. There are far too many variables to have any meaningful comparisons:
temperature

geography

tyres

driving methodology

journey length

rural

urban

load
etc.

Over the last 15 months I have recorded an overall average of 43mpg (actual, mfd is 6% optimistic). Noted that mpg improves significantly in the warmer weather. Just completed a long mixed commute, motorway and country roads and averaged 48mpg, town driving is mis 30's.

NB Car is a manual 1.4 tsi 4 WD

I recently did a trip from Slough to Aberystwyth and I have a 2ltr manual Yeti. I averaged 71.3 mpg from Slough to Swindon when I left the motorway, and overall the trip back to Aberystwyth averaged 63.1 mpg. I thought that was pretty good.
