Hi

I'm new here but I have searched for my problem without success.

I have a Superb II combi with a detachable towbar which I can't get to go into the slot.

I have followed the instructions.

Any help really appreciated.

Separately I will post on the Yeti forum the other problem that I have which is that I can't remove the detachable towbar after I have used it to tow.

I'm assuming the towbar is Skoda OE here. Double check that the plastic cap has been removed from the slot in the towbar to begin with. The red button should be pushed in on the detachable swan neck and the lever pushed down (it can't be detached without this being done, but it's possible someone before you managed to do it) and this requires the key to be inserted. Once the swan neck is inserted into the towbar, the lever should pop into the locked position by itself allowing you to lock it and remove the key.

Yes it is.   I have actually done all this. It was difficult to push the lever down with the red button pushed in and the key in place but I managed with difficulty. It has been in place before and the car has only been owned by me. Do you have a reference to a picture for the plastic cap?

I did try by putting a jack under it and raising that but there was no joy.

I will have another go and let you know what happens.

OK it is sorted; brute force was required to push the lever further down.
