Never buy from AC, just my opinion.

Royston Road was the garage where I bought my SEAT from. Had initially ordered a lesser spec car but they had no issues changing my order when I decided to go for the higher spec car. Nobody, not even brokers could match the price they were offering, then a few weeks before I was due to collect, was offered the opportunity of a further £500 discount if I registered the car at the end of the month rather than wait next day for the new reg plate. They also offered the best price for my trade-in. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant, it was one of the easiest car purchases I've ever made. Personally I'd have no issues whatsoever returning to this particular dealer, I certainly would do tho if I'd been sold a lemon.

Someone says don't buy from Arnold Clark. Living in Scotland you should know that's easier said than done. I notice the car is 5-6years old and has covered 60k miles, now the question is who do you buy a car like that from? I hope nobody is going to say buy privately from someone who's cared for the car because the downside of that ( especially buying  a DSG ) is you've you've little or no protection. If the DSG suddenly went 'bang' 1 mile up the road you've no comeback.

There's a lesson to be learned here - doesn't matter if you're buying a car like that privately, from Arthur Daley or from a garage in Berkley Square, either get it checked by a 3rd party or go over it with a fine toothed comb - never ever take the sellers word for it.

I've had several issues buying from Arnie before ( I'd never have a car serviced by them ) but given the OP had his money returned speaks in favour of buying a car from Arnie. There's nothing worse than if the seller put up a fight and you're forced to go down the legal route for the refund. I've had to do that once, and no it wasn't Arnie.

Arnold Clark refused take car back until finance company told them they were rejecting it so no Arnold Clark didn't work with me and it took finance company  intervention to get my deposit back after 4 weeks
