Skoda fabia Fuel filler flap.

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me with removing and fitting a skoda fabia mk2 2013 fuel filler flap. I have looked all over the place no joy.

I’m sure it’s the same as the MK1. Remove the screw and cap and then pull it all out.

I got a replacement flap and have seen the video on e-bay no screw on the old one or the new one, that is my problem. The mk2 is not the same as the mk1

From this diagram for a 2013 model it looks as though there's a bung in the upper side of the filler "tube" and which may be hiding a fixing screw or similar.

Hi,  I have seen this diagram,it looks like the bung shown is under the filler insert, their are no holes in the filler housing rubber on the old one or the new one, I can not find any information about fitting and removing the one I have.

You remove the cap and then rotate the unit inside the body and then withdraw.

I am currently trying to do this but it won't budge. I thought there may be a screw in 3, but it's just a hollow hole it seems. I'm trying to repair a broken flap. But may have to replace the flap as it's snapped to the hinge.

here it is with the text................it "sort" of makes sense..............

it says "swivel"................I think it means "wiggle" (german language translation) as the 2 key ways shown in image would not allow it to swivel, so I think its "wiggle and pull"

That's better. Than you

That looks like removal of the whole flap unit... I know when my MOT guy was doing a little work for me, he lopped off the cap in seconds and it was just the opening flap. So quick though, I didn't see how it was done but if need be, I could try asking him.

I have managed to glue the flap on in situ using gorilla glue. It seems very secure but if it comes off, which I doubt it will, then I'll go back to plan A and buy a new flap and replace it 👍

Thank you for everyone's help. The pic with the text will definitely help

Anyone had any luck with this? I seems to have “loosened” mine a little bit too scared to put too much force into it. This seems to be the only thread out there talking about this.

I've just fixed mine. A plastic knife is useful for getting the rim loose, then pull it out outward and towards the rear of the car. Need to be fairly forceful. Be careful of the drain, it's a bugger to refut if you pull it out of the other end!
