I need to remove my two front seats and give the carpet a thorough wet vac. Are the electrics easy to disconnect and what tools would I need to remove bolts?

It's easy to remove the seats. You'll need spline tools - just one size but I can't recall the exact one, M10 does spring to mind?

IIRC, there are two electric connectors under the drivers seat and one under the passenger seat.

A car trim removal tool is handy to remove the plastic carpet bolt on the floor.

Removing the front seats, you should undo the bolt on each side of the racks at the front (under your feet) then slide the seat forward and remove the two back ones.

It's a good idea to have someone help you lift the seats out, they're  not that heavy but are bulky and it's easy to scrape the seat runners agsinst the paintwork.

Im trying to do this for the front passenger seat and on mine there are three cables. The seat belt pre-tensioner and the occupant sensor both unplug ok but the side airbag cable does not have a visible connector.

There has got to be a way to do this easily. Any clues please.

Bob

Problem solved, there are two connectors under a flap in the carpet that allow the seat wires to be fully disconnected.

Bad news is that doing so sets the airbag failure light on the dash and this does not go out after the wires are reconnected so it looks like I need to find a reset tool.

Hope you got the airbag sorted.

For anyone reading, disconnect the negative terminal of your battery before removing the seats.

And put the seats back / reconnect all wires etc before reconnecting the battery.

This will save you from having to reset the airbag light.

Also some airbag systems have capacitors which take a while to discharge, so I would disconnect the battery about 30min before removing the seats just to be sure. You can clean the dash / the boot etc in this time flif you're removing the seats for cleaning purposes.
