Vol-au-vent starter

3 egg omelette (with extra cheesy topping grated over it)

Can't see pud menu, but I'm thinking something with custard.

Got to say I'm not overly impressed with the menu 😞 is there a specials board?

Not much of a specials board to be honest.

im not an omelette fan..

I have a choice for tea

Bits of salady stuff and left over chicken looking thing...

or

Baked potatoes (scooped out and mashed with Lurpak) Fish fingers and Beenz

Which way should I go??

My tea tonight was homemade Chicken Jalfrezi, garlic & coriander Nan (not home made) & some Mango chutney.

For pud I had a couple of my wife's home made individual iced fruit cakes washed down with a cup of Cha.

Now I have to drain my heating system & replace some old Drayton Thermostatic Radiator valve bodies in preparation for new smart rad valves. What joy:party:

pic as promised, it was alright, too much sauce though, as it was what i would call "irish carbonara" ie not made with egg and a little milk, just a milky sauce...

Sausage casserole for us tonight.  Piddling down and windy outside, so good casserole weather. It's easy to forget (well for me it is), just how hearty and good a good casserole is.  So good that taking a photo only entered my skull halfway through the washing up :blush

Coincidence

We had the same, and I also forgot to photo it.

SWMBO (who used to be a professional cook) has her own version using tinned and fresh chopped tomatoes, onions, carrots, baked beans, potatoes. God knows what else and something secret called "erbs"

Seconds are compulsory, thirds optional.  There's never enough left for 4ths

I've a lovely Russian neighbour, who understandably finds the whole situation desperately upsetting.  So much so that she seems to be keeping herself to herself.

While I'll never get past the rhetoric, spin and propaganda, the more I read, the more I realise there is so much more to what is going on than meets the eye, or I'll ever know.

It didn't feel right to keep the avatar.

i went home this evening to see the family, got home in time for bed time, so just ran back out for chippy chips... and missus mac needed petrol. heading back at 530am tomorrow morning though.

@Gaz there is always a much bigger picture to everyrhing and we do only ever see the narrative that "suits" but i have hoped we were passed a lot of international border wars, if not internal strife..

A slight departure from the original thread subject, but while we digress a little, this video might be a little apropos.

It's a letter read by Peter Capaldi and he has never been better, or more poignant. Astonishing, emotive reminder, of our potential humanity and the pointlessness of hate and violence in the grand scheme of things. It brought a tear to my eye for certain.
