I think Colin, in the spirit of Brisky and Christmas, you should post your fav 3 starters, mains and puds and insert them into a poll. We can then vote on your meal and you know that you will enjoy the food, plus we get to eat vicariously through the medium of Brisky

I'm still on a pie, sausage roll fest here. Hearty comfort food for these cold days. I got two packs of Cambridge sausages on the reduced shelf half price & took the meat out of the skins, Mixed some mace, sage & parsley seasoning with the meat & rolled it in some JustRoll ready made puff pastry I had in the freezer. Delicious.

 

I made a Lancashire butter pie from scratch with enough left over for an individual pie too. Yum.

No news yet, it's got me on tenter hooks. 

 

I suppose that Colin (who didn't formally agree to the 'Poll' terms, but we know that he will 100% abide by them as he is an honourable Brisky peep of course) by now will have ordered Prawn cocktail starter, Sirloins steak (cooked to his own preference of course) and has a choice of puds. I'm going for Parfit. It might have been slightly different, but strangely, Ken didn't post a pud option.

I don't do the internet on my mobile (mainly because I can't see the text) so it's now the morning after the meal & the results are in.

 

My Starter was - Prawn Cocktail. 

Main was - 10oz Sirloin.

No Pud.

2 pints of the black stuff. Very restrained. 

 

It was a group rule before we sat down for the meal that no photos of the food were to be taken (none of this young persons fad for us) so I have no pictures to share.  

 

My meal was OK but others who had veggie & carvery options were not so impressed. I think the carvery had been on all day & they got the leftovers. Staff & service were great but their food was a bit iffy. 5/10 overall I would say. 

 

Tonight I will have a homemade one pot Pork chop hot pot (that's a mouthful) with boiled in the sauce spuds. Think I'll start & eat that early before the footie gets under way.
