How does one activate launch control on the VRS?

Think you switch off stop/start, then hold down the TCS button for a few seconds until you get a message on the dash, then foot on the brake pedal build revs to about 3,000rpm and floor it when you lift off the brake. Not tried it yet on my Superb 272 but will have to give a go just to get it out of my system.

Yeah standard. I have done it a few times today and that was by far the quickest run, just seemed to really move that time! As you can see though not very much fuel in the car, only me in it with sod all in the boot and it was dry and sunny.

Only one way to find out.....

Stupid question, but can this be done with the manual on a 2019 VRS?

Wouldn’t have thought so, unless you have three legs.

If you have 3,000revs on the throttle with the clutch pedal all the way down and lift up the clutch quickly whilst flooring the throttle there will be a lot of noise, plenty of axle tramp as the wheels bounce up and down looking for grip, the traction control light will be flashing away like a pervert in a park wearing a raincoat and most importantly you will have moved precisely nowhere and be really really embarrassed. DSG and 4WD are better.

When I get mine stage 1 mapped you can film from the passenger seat if you promise not to stain your boxers. 0-50mph in 3.2 seconds (approx 340bhp + 4WD)

Plenty videos on YouTube of Octavia 4x4, Superb 280 4x4 and Kodiaq 4x4 using launch control.

Not bad for a diesel.

Yes, even my TDi 184 Scout has launch control...(just don't tell my other half otherwise he will kidnap my car and burn out the tyres!)

Not when using launch control necessarily, but when I floor it my 184 DSG scout diesel seems to hang onto first gear far too long and hit a wall before shifting to 2nd (regardless of E/D/S mode chosen)

Any thoughts on why this might be? or how to avoid it?

Buy a 245 DSG then it will rev as God intended to 7,000 rpm in the first 3 gears.:tongueout:

Next car may well be a 280 DSG Superb Scout to solve that problem...

Does the scout have the dsg paddles on the steering wheel?

My experience with launch control on FWD auto's (Not all VAG DSG) usually results in too much wheel spin, axle tramp and/or traction control intervention.

Nope, no flaps.

Can use the stick and change manually, but not whilst also letting the auto do it's own thing.
