Hi all

 

As usual pse send me to the right topic if this is covered else where.  I have surfed the web and this site looking for rear indicator LED bulbs for my Mk3 MY2019.  There is plenty of info which seems to advise the fitting of some fairly expensive bulbs.  There seems to be plenty on Amazon for example which say they are canbus and have leds on the top and sides, next day delivery and at reasonable prices.  Also available from other shops 😃.  Before I buy, has anyone fitted some recently that work and where were they from?

I have these. Expensive, yes. But not cheap crap. See if there is a discount code floating about.

I've had a pair of these fitted since January 2019 with no issues, I coded the car to LEDs anyway so I can't comment on whether they are 100% error free without coding. ABD also have special offers occasionally so you may get them cheaper

Just read the info on that page. How come they are not road legal?

Something like they’re not certified. 
 

None of the aftermarket ones are. They’ll all have the ‘Not for road use’ caveat. 
 

You’d be pretty unlucky to have it picked up though.

Because no aftermarket LED bulbs are legal.

As @SC03OTT said you'd be unlucky to get it picked up, unless they're as bright as a collapsed sun or flashing irregularly (hence avoid cheap crap) or other issues draw attention to the car you should be ok 

 

 

Just ordered the twenty20 bulbs, should be here next week and will provide some feedback

The rear indicator Twenty20 Cree bulbs arrived and fitted.  Nothing on the dash to indicate a bulb failure.  When comparing each other in direct bright sunshine, the Cree bulb looks at least twice as bright as the original.  The flash of the Cree bulbs is crisp and seems crisper than the original bulb, although this is somewhat subjective.  The pair were £22 inc post
