The inital setup is too low at the back so its been raised and we are letting it settle overnight then the tracking will be done.

  • So how much did it drop and how does it look?  Here are some not ideal photos I could take at the moment (from a photography point of view) but they do ok to provide the comparison:

  • ============= IMPORTANT UPDATE =============== I was investigating further the rear drop, as I was puzzled as to how it ended up being at the exact same height as the front even though I used

@Awesam

Thanks!
definitely too low for me

It riased up by an 1inch! Thoughts?   There is plenty of thread left to adjust it higher if needed.

First drive on the B16's, Firmer in all settings, once you which to sport you actually hear it adjusting when the window lol

Well test full this weekend see how much of a difference the B16s and the Whiteline ARB kit have made.

Looks like you're carrying bricks in the boot :giggle:

First drive - 4.5hrs on the Motorway, fully loaded boot and 3 kids.

So impressed with the B16's along with the Whiteline ARB kit.

Much firmer and in my opinion so far these settings work best: Eco for the streets and comfort for the Motorway.

Surprised how well the shocks coped and didn't rub the wheel arches at all.

Update

@Awesam you have spacers fitted too?

I'm in 20mm in the back and do think it would run if lowered too much.

No spacers atm however I have bought 2 pairs of 10mm.

I think I will have raise it up by 0.5 to 1" higher.

If I went for 19" rim then I may get away with if the tyre has a lower height profile.

I will take some pics once I've cleaned it as the it's on a fairly driveway.

U should have no scrubbing issues @Awesam with 10mm spacers on ur 18s.

19" rims with 235/40R19 tyres, lowered 20mm, with 15mm spacers (F&R) = no scrubbing at all.

19" rims with 245/40R19 tyres, lowered 20mm, with 15mm spacers (F&R) = slight rubbing at the rear only.  No issues with the fronts.

Rear with 10mm spacers doesn't having scrubbing issues.

Its too much for me...:giggle:

Did hit the front bottom last night whilst going over some speed bumps!

I may raise the front by 0.5 inch and 1 inch from the rear.

Otherwise I really happy how the car feels.

The only issue so far is that the front springs/mounts creak when driving or turning the slowly

@Awesam do you know what the drop is at each end as it stands now?

@JR RS would you expect rubbing with 20mm spacers and lowering of 25-30mm (prokit)  With 18s? (235/45/18 I think).  Or is that a combo you cant comment on?  I have a set of 12mm spacers on the shelf so could fit those if needed as that sounds like it would fit ok.

Finally, I have ordered a set of Koni Special Actives.  Expected delivery is September.  I have not ordered springs as I was going to try it stock height.  Will I regret no lowering at this stage and may as well do springs too while the car is "in bits"?  Strangely the passat gte springs are 25mm at the rear but the superb iV is 30-35mm.  Both cars being 35mm front.  Car will be going into the garage for the work as I don't have the patience or time to be doing that job.  Took me 2 days last time!

I honestly don't know how much the drop is however i would its more than the Eibach pro springs (20mm) so if I had to guess it would c25mm to 35mm.  If I hold my index and middle finger vertically, I can just get them in the  front arch, I have to slant them up slightly to get them in the rear.

to be more precise what i can do is measure the top of the tyre to the wheel arch to see what the gap is.

Personally, to get most of those dampers I would say get the lowering springs

Oh yeah so the figures I quoted were from stock height. Sportline is 10 or 15mm lower already? My Passat is same height as standard superb. Hence my mention of the different spring sets. Axle weights quoted on the eibach specs are the same for front but 3kg more for the superb. That's not enough to account for the added drop so there must be a difference in the springs. Maybe it's an option for you guys in superbs instead of adding the TT top pads?

Not sure about it exactly with that combo.

Mine was scrubbing, only just, with 245 wide 19" tyres.  A negative camber at the rear would've probably addressed that, but I figured it's best to drop down to a 10mm spacer at the rear.  Less poke too.

Pic below shows the poke with 245 wide tyres, lowered and 15mm spacers.  It scrubs (when the wheel compresses) where the bumper meets the rear qtr panel.

The drop @Awesam has on his is currently way more than 30mm.

I'd say it's between 40 and 50mm.

Would b good to c wat measurements @Awesam has from the top of his wheel arch to the ground.

mine is currently sitting at 670mm, after the 20mm drop from the Eibach springs.

from factory, it was almost 690mm.

Please could you open a thread with your experience with koni special active?  I am very interested in them and everything I read is so beautiful that I already suspect that it is real.

Fail

Sure I can. Although I will probably add to this thread and open another in the non-skoda section to be clear that it's on a Passat.

Sorry for the delay in responding!

So I have about 20mm or slightly less in the front arch

Maximum about 5mm in the rear, the top of the tyre is literally in the wheel arch!

Yes, there still plenty of adjustment if I need to adjust up or down!
