Fabia 2 1.4mpi fuel filter replace

Featured Replies

Got out of car the other day and noticed petrol dripping from rear drivers side .

It seemed the fuel filter had a leak so decided to attempt to renew.   A quick on line search revealed a number of choices and prices , so decided to go for mid range Bosch type.

Fairly easy to do- just one screw holds the plastic container/ strap but this had rusted away so badly I couldnt turn it, so  i had to drill the head out.

Once the filter released i took a photo to remind me which pipes went where.  There are 2 pipes at one end , and one at the other.

The pipes are held on to the filter by internal clips which release when pressed externally.  So its a case of press & pull at the same time.

Slide pipes on new filter until you hear the clip click,  then plastic container secured back on with a new stainless steel screw.

Theres also a helpful youtube video on line for a vw polo which is pretty much same.

Shouldnt be more than half hours job.
