If it helps anyone I created a 3d-printed wireless charger holder for my 2021 TSI IV front tray and iPhone.  I made two versions, one for an eono charger and one for an Apple MagSafe charger. Works a

  • I'll try to make more chargers in a couple of weeks.. It would be interesting to compare my version with the original.

Neither is making out something is a issue when it’s not 🤷‍♂️ Skodamk4 suggests that not being able to turn it off is a problem when it is not. Can’t see why you’d want/need to turn the charger off.

I am interested in EU version..
Also, does this mitigate problem where phone does not touch the surface (because of angle/depth), for example samsung s20/s21 and bigger phones?

P.S. thanks for making and sharing those chargers!

With 6,4'' S21FE , and S10plus works OK

Also I tested the car usb-c power and the maximum showed about 7W (this is of course very low-power), so I use a 10W PCB.

After the car warranty expires, it will be possible to make both the connectors and charging more powerful (about 45W),

but this is not so easy ,you will have to remove the center console..

I am now testing a 3D printed trash bin in the door because the material inside gets dirty very easily. and I also want to make an armrest tray, but I haven’t come up with the perfect shape yet

Guys, is posible put in original wireless charger in car without it, in skoda center?

Technically it's possible, but am not sure if dealership will do it.

Question is, if it's worth it? I had one in Ateca, i think it's the same type. Charger is 5W only, so it's not really charing the phone when using wireless AA or CarPlay. Also i haven't seen much of a positive effect of signal amplifier.

Those are the reasons for not adding it to my Octavia config. I just think it's not worth the price.

I think the answer you're looking for may be found here:

Just search through previous posts, they added some more info some time ago...

There may be warranty issues. and the original is weak, about 5-7 watts, everything inside must be thoroughly changed, after the end of the warranty

Received mine today.

Looks well made and fits perfectly.

Reasonably quick charging also. Certainly enough to keep it from losing charge 👍

Thanks.

Are there any plans to make any more of these?

Do you still have some? All links are broken now.

Unfortunately, chargers are currently out of stock. Suppliers have updated the PCB design, and now it doesn't work in the car. I'm currently searching for the right components and hope that chargers will be available for sale again soon.

Also very interested skodamk4. Looks a good product, I hope you’re able to find the right parts again.

None of the ebay links work anymore. It would be nice if someone could upload a photo.

You can get trimmable ones from TEMU, got one in the glovebox of my car.

You can trim it to fit the hole under the infotainment system or just do what I've done after having two replacement windscreens and that's put a sat nav disc on the dashboard and attach a wireless phone charger on a arm...

The reason I chose it, is that the windscreen is pretty poor and it's just easier to put up with a disc on the dashboard and fit this to it.

@Skodamk4 Just ordered new Octavia Mk4 DSG and searching for wireless charger. Any chance your product will be available again?

I`ll try to produce one for my car as these on here apparently disappeared :) If successful - will share the files for DIY. Plan is to use 6mm plywood/mdf, a magsafe USB-C charger (found one 15W that has USB inputs on both sides, 6mm thick, 30mm radius so ideal) and then use a liquid rubber black spray to cover up or a thin black EVA sheet to stick on top. The tray is conical and already made a mock to use for the actual woodcut. Belkin make a 15cm short & soft USB-C to USB-C to connect.

I am pretty sure the USB ports deliver a relatively low wattage based on the 15W MagSafe charger I have plugged into the car.  It does the job but charging is pretty slow.

I've used a rectangular wireless charger that I had lying about the house. Just about fits in the space (little bit of forcing, doesn't sit perfectly flat) with a short cable.

Granted, not as neat, but you can't really see it unless you specifically look and it cost about £15 for the cable!
