I'm afraid I've joined the growing list of owners rejecting vehicles plagued with the technological problems. (It would be interesting to know how many have been rejected over recent months.......)

A follow up on the original KPH issue: I raised this again with the garage early August and my car went in for an update yesterday.

I am now able to select KPH for speed in the Settings -> Units menus and the sat nav now works in miles.

What is the update software? Has it changed from 1896?

Mone is due in this Friday, hoping I can get the same issue fixed too

Thanks

1896 fixed it for me.  But since then I've had a fix (no idea what number) to cure a a problem with the 12v battery going completely flat over night (twice) Having fixed that I've now got a problem with the infotainment system rebooting occasionally.
The mapping sw is 22.4 and I've tried and failed to do the upgrade to the 23 release.

good luck with the garage.

Mark H above said his kph/mph fix was in addition to the SW as it didn't change, but the problem has gone after the garage had it.

My info systém often reboots 1 or 2 times a journey, early on.

My mapping is on 23.8 but not sure if that is current as the download version from Skoda has a year-based code = 23/24!!

As far as I can tell that's the latest map version.  I've download the files on to a usb stick (which is what you're supposed to do for the Mk4 octavia) and followed the instructions but it does not load it and there are no messages  on the screen to tell you what's going on-  Pretty poor design.

Did the garage update your map?

Ive only had the car since April (bought from a Honda dealer which makes problems more tricky!), so came to me with that update already installed.

My current list of issues seem similar to others:

  • no MPH to KPH option in settings,
  • KPH only in satnav
  • key fob battery 'needs replacing' message after a few weeks of doing so (both keys)
  • dangerous breaking by ACC when i'm overtaking a car (which is going slower tham me in the inside lane) with no one else anywhere nearby (75mph breaking to 60ish before Ive had enough and put my foot down to get back up tp speed).  I wonder if it thinks im 'undertaking' on a left hand drive motorway (did the programming conversion to UK right hand drive not pick up everything?), as the blue travel assist car indicator comes up on my inside.  Its not always, but often enough to be a worry if your car suddenly decides its going to break hard on a motorway.

Android auto now seems to work wirelessly which it did not do until last week..  I think there were a couple of OTA updates last week, so must have been in one of those.

@Mjanesuk seems you have the 'classic' SEL FE issues!

The key fob battery is what it is. Batteries on both need changing, there is another thread on here with extensive comment. IIRC seems it's more time based than battery level based, and both keys need doing even if one is hardly ever used.

As for the other three, yep, been there. There is a fix available, get to a good Škoda dealer to get it done. The car, as it stands, is non-compliant with UK regulations 'cos it can't display KPH so even if it is out of warranty they should fix it. The KPH/MPH fix on mine also sorted the ACC problem. A tip for the ACC problem, as soon as you notice it start to slow down, just tap the throttle pedal - it over-rides the 'no undertaking' part of it.

@Suffolk - map updates are available over-the-air as part of the Infotainment Online - payable after the first year.
